Cheating allegations at Stones (2 Viewers)

Have you guys seen Mike's brother in the booth talking about cheating his friends when they were younger? He said if my brother can angle he will. Was profound IMO

Just adds more context to his character. Once a cheater always a cheater. The amount of evidence is just overwhelming and isn't slowing down.

Anyone know why Veronica Brill decided to spill the beans or what made her do so?

Do you think she knew for a long time or just figured it out recently? If anyone knows.

She was in the commentary booth in the big game 10 20 50 Berkey, Soto etc on Sept 21 2019. Have yet to watch entire episode but plan on doing so.
She commented on tons of nights that were just insane. My guess is she's honest person and was sick and tired of people calling a cheating mortal a god. Just my opinion

She is supposedly the person that brought it up months ago when the first “investigation” happened. Guessing since nothing came if it and he was still cheating she went public to get results

Not sure we're going to get results.

The attorney heading up the new "independent" investigation is a former personal attorney for one of the Stones owners (Ryan Stone).

This just gets shadier and shadier...

im kinda worried about veronica actually. She could end up missing easily

I don't know.
  • I'm pretty sure the CGCC knows about this mess at this point.
  • It's the #1 news in the poker community.
  • This lawyer news will only amp up the pressure from Joey and Doug on their channels.
  • 2+2 is going bonkers.
  • There are literally (hundreds of?) thousands of people talking about this right now.
There's no point in harming Veronica at this point. Too many people are talking about it.

Veronica is who you take out when she walks in the back room and sees production-assistant Steve chatting to Postle on the secret headset while hovering over the RFID feed. You don't bump her off when your card room is the #1 headline in gambling for 6 days straight. I have a feeling her safety is pretty secure.

Fuuuuck...

So I assume they still need the Stones password thus still needing inside help.

I'm guessing it was a separate Access Point and LAN run by the TV production team. I doubt Stones would allow that data to run on their own network.

But yes... a password for that private AP was needed. But he might have been able to pressure a video crew staffer into giving it to him for a cut. OR, if it was standard equipment for their video setup, that fucking thing could've still been set to factory defaults with some password like 12345.

Then all he needs is a laptop with the software, and a buddy in the parking lot with a cell phone watching hands and reading him the info.

Damn, fuckin movie shit there.

If the video software is the real source of the weakness... those guys are fucked. They run WPT, LATB, Aussie Millions streams, and so many more.

I would imagine the lawsuits from casinos will be flying due to their weak ass security.

And when did she quit Stones?

I’ve played in Veronica’s game before and am “acquaintances”/ social media friends with her. She moved out of Sac about 6-8 months ago for a data analytics day job in San Jose and stopped doing regular commentary at that time. Sounds like she brought up her suspicions to I assume Justin Kuraitis back in March and he “looked into them” and dismissed the claim. Suspicious behavior continued leading Stones to implement a phone ban (that wasn’t enforced?) on live streamed games, possibly the entire room, while in a hand. Mike’s suspicious behavior continued through the streamed $5/10/25/50 game that Matt Berkey, Marle and Christian Soto played in last week where Mike won $26k on a $5k buy in I think, playing his typical “highly exploitative” style. I believe Veronica discussed this with Berkey and crew afterwards, who own an RFID table and are familiar with the equipment/capabilities and they probably continued the discussion with other people of influence and then decided it was suspicious enough to publicly break as no appropriate action had been taken.

Yea... we need @nitzilla to chime in here. This is really his territory.

And I don't know how easy it is to get access to an AP if you don't have the password.
Its trivial in most cases. If they invested in enterprise level security and idenity management then it's harder. But if this is a separate setup from the casino it is likely pretty weak

Yup. And as some one else already mentioned... probably left at factory defaults. This just gets more insane as it goes on.

Interesting read on a lot of levels. I’m not what I’d call a “tech savvy” guy. However, this is a live-in person game with a live stream. If there’s cheating going on here, just imagine all the potential for cheating playing online poker. No thanks!

Top level trolling. I wish I could of watched Joey's stream last night... Who watched it? How was it!?

I watched about a half hour. Now that there is some basic understanding of how Postle did this, with the hidden earpiece in the hat, etc., Joey is really starting to drill down and look for nuance and repetitive behavior.

The big one being that Postle seems to put his hands on his head whenever he is put in what seems like a tough spot. And specifically on the left side of his head, as if he’s pushing that earpiece against his scalp to better hear what his back-of-house partner is telling him about the cards in play.

Everyone is starting to connect the dots... And not in a good way for Postle. Or the RFID system, for that matter.
