So, ALL chips are like 1967 Shelby's? There are NO chips like a 1967 Toyota Corolla?I think people that murder chips are the worst possible chip hobbyists. It’s like destroying a 1967 Shelby because you wanted a different upholstery color.
Everyone has a gripe until they find a hotstamp that'll fit there set perfectly....So, ALL chips are like 1967 Shelby's? There are NO chips like a 1967 Toyota Corolla?
Asking for a friend @Josh Kifer
Sounds like hyperbole to me
On to my confession:
I will murder, relabel, break, discard and / or give away (to non-chippers no less - I know "the horror" right?) whatever the hell I want and not give a damn what any rando on the internet thinks about it!
I'm speechless. I don't like cigars, but I'll make sure they find a good home. Thanks, brother.I have all my poker equipment in my will as well. Tables, chairs, and chips. There is a note to that player in the will - "The game must go on".
Same guy also gets my cigar and whiskey.
Sure hope he doesn't find out ahead of time or I'm going to have to watch my back.
Good point, I forgot about all the initialed chips, I was thinking faded hot stamps and all the like that have made their way to frac town.Everyone has a gripe until they find a hotstamp that'll fit there set perfectly....
I think I've made more chips usable then ruined good chips in my time here. Most are random hotstamps of initials on off colors (yay NTL 10.00 white ones). At least this way the chips are hitting the table.
Yeah. 70-75% of everything I do is weird hotstamps on THC/ASM solids. I'd say I've only murdered a few truely rare racks, and those are for jobs and the owners of the chips (I.E. I cant afford them). Not here to judge. Everyone's chipping journey is different and unique. I just hope everyone enjoys the ride and has fun.Good point, I forgot about all the initialed chips, I was thinking faded hot stamps and all the like that have made their way to frac town.
I don't think anyone is murdering a relabeling Binon's 5K's but I can't comprehend the midset that ALL chips have "history".
For example, here is the History of the HSI $1A (aka tertiary):
Casino bought them, they got delivered and were never put into play. When the casino went broke, they got sold to some dude named "Jim". "Jim" sold them to others and kept lowering the price until the 50-60K(+) of them were gone. End history.
Gear knowsI think taboo is a strong word, unless you’re talking about murdering rare, desirable chips, which doesn’t happen very often.
But I think it’s worth mentioning that this whole murder/reliable thing is pretty new.
When I started reading this site about 5 years ago, relabels (except for fracs or other fill in the missing denom chips) were party rare. Like, I’m hard-pressed to think of many relabeled sets. I can remember fewer than 5 being shown off around that time.
So maybe the community is still getting used to the concept?
If alcohol poisoning hasn't killed Craig, it is safe to assume that he has some super-liver and no poison would be effective.Unrelated question: anybody on the forum know anything about untraceable poisons?

If you need my personal info for the will, just drop me a pm.I modified my Last Will and Testament a couple of weeks ago to include my chips. My attorney looked at me like I was nuts.
I've been thinking about it for days. Truth is, I don't have any secret confessions, because I shout out all my opinions, daily.Confession 2: I’m secretly waiting for @upNdown ’s contribution to the thread (but will settle for @Hammer2171 ’s)
Dibs on the set whose name we shall not mention.SF hybrid (BJ v7 design)
Would that set be the Hard Candy Hold'em Mafia chips?Dibs on the set whose name we shall not mention.
I once ran out of shampoo and used the dog’s for a week. I could reach it from the shower and I kind of liked the smell.

100% THIS. Mint chips fill me with anxiety.
I have never used, and probably never will use my jacks, because then they won't be mint anymore. So it's like I don't actually own them. And I sold my GO chips, which were the only ones I ever felted.

You take that shit back right now! Not only did your post spawn the most epic set of chips ever but was also the birth of the world-renowned artist who created them. @BonScot wouldn't be who he is today with you.Confession 1: I still am sorry for the things I have said in my first post on here.
Yeah, I'd say that @Hammer2171 more than made up for that post by owning it, apologizing, and becoming a contributing member of the community. The Scrub Donkey chips and the enormous amount of entertainment we got from that thread are happy bonuses. You take that shit back right now! Also, I don't really care that much about poker chips. And, insofar as I do, ceramics are so much better than clay.
Love this post. I came back after a long time break a few years ago and instantly heard from a few usernames I had never known welcoming me back- and also wondering what I had. Not all were like that, a few are actually/genuinely really nice dudes on the board I’ve learned since reading their posts, but one or two I never heard from again. can’t blame the hustle though, I respect it.Here's a hot take from a newb .... veterans chippers become much more friendly in DM once you have what they want.
I must confess I do understand hoarders. I don’t have that much of a problem with chips because I’m a low level scrubdonkey, but other hobbies/parts of my life are out of control.I must confess that i dont understand hoarders
That’s actually a really nice set of dice chips dude. The colors and the stamps work pretty damn good. I understand we’re talking dice chips, but if you are going to do it do it right, and those are right.
After 5+ years in chipping, I come to PCF out of pure habit. There's nothing I want to buy and there aren't a ton of conversations I want to engage in. The politics is toxic, the prices are batshit crazy, and there is a real streak of independence that has undermined the concept of community. Many of the folks who mentored me in this hobby contribute less and less, and if it weren't for the friendships I've made, I'd likely be fine stepping away completely.
