If we talk about clay... not decal... only hot stamps...?
Wonder if they will sell blanks and how they handle a hot stamp?
Interesting. Samples please! It is my understanding that all chips are produced as blanks with a recessed center, and are afterwards either hot-stamped or have a decal/label applied (unlike other compression-molded chips, which have inlays pressed into the chip during manufacturing).
Since they send out blanks for samples, I'm guessing they will sell them that way as well -- opening the door for aftermarket hot-stamping and aftermarket labels.
Oh do not worry. I already asked about hotstamping versus inlay versus applying labels. It might take a couple of emails to get all the details. I'm waiting for the first response. This seems to indicate the manufacturing process does not allow for real inlays, only label stickers & hotstamp ....
If someone speaks to them perhaps inquire .. This might be why these chips are next to unknown in casinos, despite their lower cost ...
I think so too....More than likely I'll be in for a 600 piece order. Could go up if I like the end product. I would think this could be a great hot stamped tournament set like the Grand Cardroom sets.
exactly! (y) :thumbsup:Interested in these as well IF they are real compression molded clays (not china clays). Blanks would be fine, I don't care about hot stamps or labels. Depends on the mold design too although I could live with the stylized "M".
Cash also ..A hot stamp tourney set would be cool.
Oh yeah, we could hot stamp these chips so hard.... I am trying not to get my hopes up before we hear the details but they just look so damn sexy...A hot stamp tourney set would be cool.
I'm guessing that they they hot-stamp just fine, otherwise Matsui would not be offering factory-stamped chips in their product catalog. See post #21 for pics.
The last photo doesn't appear to be compression molded clay and the stamp is too perfect. I would guess that this is just an example of hot stamping a composite chip.

I think they are very good ..
By the way, I noticed that for them, there is a difference between clay chips and hot stamping chips ..
roughly as in the last photo ..
When I get a pricing matrix from them and it looks like they will sell to me, we will work out all those options and figure out what the community wants more or even if both are an option. Not sure yet.Hmmm...are you folks thinking solid or with edge spots? If solids are an option, I'm interested.
In this picture I would be worried that the recess is not deep enough for hot stamping. Might have wobblie stacking issues. Like with TRKings and ASM Roman molds. Was fun to dream I guess.
