clay Matsui chips? (2 Viewers)

Thanks Mike. It seems as if they only offer solids and one edge spot configuration.

Following with interest for sure.

Good to see more interest. I'll post an update when they respond. If I don't get a response by Monday, I'll give them a follow up and maybe a call.

If we talk about clay... not decal... only hot stamps...?
Wonder if they will sell blanks and how they handle a hot stamp?

It is my understanding that all chips are produced as blanks with a recessed center, and are afterwards either hot-stamped or have a decal/label applied (unlike other compression-molded chips, which have inlays pressed into the chip during manufacturing).

Since they send out blanks for samples, I'm guessing they will sell them that way as well -- opening the door for aftermarket hot-stamping and aftermarket labels.

Interesting. Samples please!

This seems to indicate the manufacturing process does not allow for real inlays, only label stickers & hotstamp ....
If someone speaks to them perhaps inquire .. This might be why these chips are next to unknown in casinos, despite their lower cost ...
Oh do not worry. I already asked about hotstamping versus inlay versus applying labels. It might take a couple of emails to get all the details. I'm waiting for the first response.

More than likely I'll be in for a 600 piece order. Could go up if I like the end product. I would think this could be a great hot stamped tournament set like the Grand Cardroom sets.

I'm intrigued as well. I doubt they would ship individual orders, they work in bulk orders, a la plaques, for example.

Yep, I asked about minimum orders too. Still waiting. Might be early next week when they respond to me.

If they will sell to me, and the minimum is 5000 or something and I end up with a bunch of extras, oh well. I'll hold on to them and keep them mint until someone wants them ;)

First step: get details
Second step: share options
Third step: poll the community for ideas on those options and see where a majority land
Fourth step: work out distribution and costs
Fifth step: profit! For all of us!

Note: I am not a business, nor do I want to be. I just freaking love chips and want us to share something magical.

Interested in these as well IF they are real compression molded clays (not china clays). Blanks would be fine, I don't care about hot stamps or labels. Depends on the mold design too although I could live with the stylized "M".

I think so too....
cool, if it is a new birth of such chips as Avalon, Private, Grand ...
just need to have a good stamp.
in many reviews, they are in second place after Paulson!
I have many times tried to raise this topic in the CPC topic, but unfortunately had no interest ...

exactly! (y)
and another important point, it's a good price ..

I don't know per se, but would they take well to hotstamping? Maybe get samples and test them out to see if it stamps well?

I'm guessing that they they hot-stamp just fine, otherwise Matsui would not be offering factory-stamped chips in their product catalog. See post #21 for pics.

I think they are very good ..

By the way, I noticed that for them, there is a difference between clay chips and hot stamping chips ..
roughly as in the last photo ..

The last photo doesn't appear to be compression molded clay and the stamp is too perfect. I would guess that this is just an example of hot stamping a composite chip.

I would be tentatively interested as well although I assume this may end up outside my budget. Maybe if I sell a set or two...

In this picture I would be worried that the recess is not deep enough for hot stamping. Might have wobblie stacking issues. Like with TRKings and ASM Roman molds. Was fun to dream I guess.
