clay Matsui chips? (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking a good old community-based base color, then spot configuration poll. Like the old BCC MGK offering from 5-6 years ago! Even if this ends in disappointment it's going to be fun....kind of like a Pittsburgh penguins season!

Here's the only color chart I could find. Unclear if these are plastic chip colors only, or if they also apply to clay chips:

I like the idea of solids but can't the OP add a poll to the thread. With a large enough order I would guess we could do cash and tournament chips. I guess we will see when the info is sent. Also I do not mind helping with anything to get this done.

I am sure they are able to be stamped. A company such as this would not put out an inferior product but something we should get samples of to make sure.

If your referring to my post as urination. I don't know why. Truth hurts sometimes I guess. I have personally stamped every kind of chip. That's all I was trying to say. Parade on. Believe me I wish they were stampable.

When you stamped Matsui chips what was the issue?

It is my understanding that all chips are produced as blanks with a recessed center, and are afterwards either hot-stamped or have a decal/label applied (unlike other compression-molded chips, which have inlays pressed into the chip during manufacturing).

Since they send out blanks for samples, I'm guessing they will sell them that way as well -- opening the door for aftermarket hot-stamping and aftermarket labels.
If this is correct, & Matsui indeed does not even offer the option to any customers, even casinos, of an inlay, just a sticker, and combined with the seemingly low cost of a new "mold" , these are probably something very "different" from a Paulson/ASM compression molded clay, at least manufacturing-wise .. I hope the forthcoming information from the mfgr sheds some light on this ...

I requested information from both the American division and their HQ. It's a race to the finish!

Not a very good review. :(

Count me in on the group buy. Interested to check these out

Not sure but I'm still hopeful.

I think I handled these before. I can't remember if they were the blue solids.

And the plot thickens...

I like this. It's kind of like a detective novel, trying to figure out just what these chips actually are...

Whenever they get back to me, assuming they don't flat out tell me "no", I will ask about ordering several sets of sample clay chips and see if we can get these under the microscope.

I am hoping I don't find any urine in their formula, but you can't be too sure these days

Can someone help a thickie? How does this potential group buy work? Is it limited to certain spot combination(s)? Who decides what the chips look like?

I'm kinda interested but I'd only be getting 300 or so chips (maybe more, maybe less based on cost/shipping) so I don't know if I'd even qualify.

Apologies to all for being clueless.

Generally, some sort of consensus is reached regarding design qualities. Most any quantity should be fine for an order once prices and postage details are posted, provided the orders have met whatever total "minimum" the Mfgr required .. .,..
