Cleaning tables and felt (1 Viewer)

It's been a while since I priced the items, but if I recall...
  • Suede rail $60
  • Foam / Automotive headliner $15
  • Speedcloth $60
  • Plywood $70
  • Legs $60 - $180 (or more)
  • Cupholders $30
This will get you some high quality stuff. You can go cheaper (thinner plywood), but I like stuff to be solid, and feel nice to the tough (suede vs vinyl or cloth). Options are up to you. Many materials can be found via YourAutoTrim.com, but if I were to build again, I would be looking at a custom T_Chan gaming suede.

For what it's worth, I think you're way past upgrading your current table. Jumbo cupholders are ~$50 alone. Sounds like the better option and the one you are leaning to is to build a new one.

The prices in this quote are kinda off, specifically the foam. Rail foam will run around $55 and playing surface foam is around $10 a yard and you would need 2-3 depending on size. For an example of what you'd be getting into, http://yourautotrim.com/poker-table...-rail-foam-and-adhesive-free-shipping-to-usa/

With this, you still need cup holders and wood. Possibly legs, although a topper will work too like you've talked about. Not to mention tools.

It's all in what you want, for example for $50. Lot of 10 Jumbo Dual Drop in Stainless Steel Cup Holders by Brybelly https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001TGVSA0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Ai1.ybA0KRNGF

I buy stainless in bulk, so last time I bought a set of 10 it was for brass and from what I remember $50 was the best I could find at the time.

I see the difference - the dual drop. Brass or colored will also bump up the price. As with anything, little extras can add up quickly.

You can build a solid poker table or table topper for around $300 to $350, using good materials. I've built dozens.

You can also go the lightweight portable tabletop route, for around $100 to $150 depending on how fancy you want it to be. Rail is extra.

Anyone have gaming suede on their table? I wipe mine with a damp microfiber cloth after every game because it picks up hair/lint/dirt/ and oil. That being said it now has a slight odor, probably because it’s in a basement and isn’t getting proper ventilation when drying. I want to use some kind of cleaner that would be safe. It’s a dye sublimation gaming suede so I was told by the builder I wouldn’t have to worry about the images fading or coming off. I also don’t want to use anything tough or industrial, water based would be best. Been googling for an hour or so and haven’t found anything of interest yet. Any suggestions out there?

I have gaming suede on mine too and use the same method as you but I never noticed a smell. How much water do you use? Like do you soak the microfiber and then wring it out to wipe? I wet my hands under the faucet and use a dry microfiber to dry my hands. Then I use it to wipe the table

Interesting, I do wring mine very tight to get almost all the liquid out, but yes I run it under steaming hot water first. I used some Resolve upholstery odor cleaner and it helped very much. I'll try your method going forward. I also believed part of the issue is that my setup is in a basement and the ventilation isnt amazing. I do crack a window but there isnt much air circulating down there.

Get a table fan and point it at the felt. That should ensure it dries.

Yeah after the cleaning, I brought my air circulator and pointed it at the table to make sure it dries. Might be a good call to grab something smaller for ease.
