Those look slick. You guys did a great job on the $5s. The only thing I could see bothering me is the excess border around the image. Looks like it takes up a lot of real estate, only to be left blank. Other than that they are really great.

Perhaps if you go one size up you would be able to make the border smaller but still have the design look consistent across the $5s and $20s.

It's designed that way to fit the shape of the plaques face. The surface of the plaque isn't flat like the Matsuis so if we were to enlarge the image, the overall image wouldn't look at clean.

And to answer your earlier question about storage. It depends on the person. Seems like most people use a plaque rack of some sort while I have seen others purchase these and they seem to fit nice and snug.

UPDATE: got a confirmed wire transfer fee of $45 from my bank. again all that we need to finalize is size so if all who has showed interest in size could please give their $.02 so we can finalize that as well. In the mean time I will go ahead and update the title of the thread as it seems like we have enough interest an info at this point to make this official.

In what stake games would these get the most use (i.e what buy-ins and what blinds)?

I use them for buy-ins.

My group only plays .25/.50 for now, but the usual buy is no more then 30 bucks.
So the $20 plaques makes us feel ... up scale, like we are Fo-Ballers or something. Haha

I think they are a good "baller" novelty for .25/.50 and .50/1.00 games.

it honestly depends on you and your group.

I vote same size as the $5 plaques.

I'm with you on this. I'll give until late tomorrow to get more responses, if no one else chimes in, same as $5 is what it'll be and then we can proceed with actual quantity interest.

Maybe $100 buy-ins (20 X $1 + 16 X $5), do $1/$1 blinds, and then use 5 X $20 plaques for re-buys?

Not sure where they would be used in $50 buy-in games with 25c/50c blinds, where rebuys will more than likely come from $5 X 10.

again, it's all going to be dependent on you and your group. if you really wanted to, you could purchase 200 plaques and use them instead of chips. how you use them is really up to you.

For $1/$1 blinds, id go with the $100 plaques instead of the $20s. Not sure if someone would run a $100 MSK plaque run or something though.

These will be the only ones I own, so I am less invested. But, it seems to make sense to keep them the same size and color so they will match any of the others that people may already own.

I too don't really have a say in the size. These will be the only ones that I will own as well.

[I know @Irish expressed larger, but wanting to see if your mind has changed with updates thus far.

Nope, haven't changed my mind :). But it looks like I'm in the minority so far. The size wouldn't affect my order as long as we use a different edge color for the $20s than was used on the $5s. Looks like we're around $5.00-$5.25 per plaque with the current counts plus re-shipping, correct?

I did the cost at the quantity of 500 just to match quantity of the $5 and it came out to roughly around $4.12 per plaque. Idk if changing the quantity would change the cost of per plaque value. As far color, I will hold a vote once we decide on size and I get the okay from MSK for prototypes.

If I were to lean one way it would to keep them the same size, mainly for storage purposes. Can somone remind how the size of the matsui plaques compared to the $5 plaques, I'm too lazy to get my ass out of my chair right now.

Either way the size won't affect my order

Post #1 has a link right to the thread with comparison photos. They are roughly the same size, MSK I believe is slightly thinner cuz of the edges.

The final cost per plaque will vary depending on the final order number because you're dealing with both a cost per plaque and an overall fixed overhead cost (wire+shipping+handling+artwork) that will be split over the number of plaques. The more plaques ordered, the more that fixed overhead cost gets spread around, so the cost per plaque goes down. If the order is for 200 plaques, the cost would be $5.11 per plaque - for 500, it'd be $4.13. From the interest file in the OP, it looked like we were around 200-250 plaques so far.

Based on the financials posted in the OP, looks like hitting 500 plaques actually makes the price jump a bit as there's a big jump in the handling fees.

IIRC we tried to get the $5 plaque GB as close to 500 without going over for this reason

Once we finalize the design and size @pokermijo might want to start a clean thread for orders or let this one run for a another week or so after that, as I'll bet some people are sitting on the sidelines waiting for final design before they commit. Just a thought

Good idea. There is no rush. Give people time to get on board. Im surprised that the $5 plaque guys arent interested in the $20 as much. Will the $5s get used more in smaller games?

I am definitely going to let this one run a bit. Looks like we are going to be keeping the same size as the $5 but as stated wont close that decision until tonight when I get off work.

Thanks for doing the math @Irish I was too lazy to do it myself until we had a final count heh.

As for the handling fee increase, the count has to be 501 or higher for it to increase. With the $5 plaques they were able to hit 500 exactly to maximize value.
