Without re-reading 30 pages of this thread, does anyone recall what the price of these are NOW?

I was wanting to pull the trigger before, but had to wait for another set to sell first... Of course, a buyer for my other set suddenly emerged, which as freed up some funds.

Of course this is a great time to bother Josh, since he's probably busy getting everyone their chips.

They're on the website now, $0.34 each

How can I get some of those 5 cent labels? Do I go through Apache or through a third party like Gear?

I received my chips earlier this week and was finally able to take a good look at them today. My first impression was very positive. I like the colors, design, the simplicity yet elegance of the labels and the consistency of thickness (they all fit nicely in Chipco racks).

Having taken a second look at them today, I noticed that the hundreds have inconsistent diameter sizes. I purchased 400 of the hundreds and their diameters vary greatly. I also purchased 300 twenty-fives, 150 five hundreds, 100 thousand and 50 five thousand chips. Other than one of the thousand chips, all of their diameters are very consistent.

I have attached several pictures which show the size inconsistencies. Does anyone else have issues with the inconsistent diameter size of the hundreds they received or did I just get lucky?

The design and colors of the Majestics would have made them the best of the China Clays I have but the diameter issue pulls them back into just being an average chip.

My hundos suffer from the same problem, as do my blues (which I will use for 5k's). I'm really not thrilled with it at all, but considering I only paid $.29 per chip I'm not overly upset. If "fixed" chips are ever offered then I would be on board for those, but I'm content with these given the price point.

Sorry I would have a problem with that even at this price point. I would cringe everytime I looked at a rack like what was posted. I don't expect perfection but very noticeable varying widths is extreme.

Cheap chips are, well, cheap. You get what you pay for. Want chip perfection? Fine, but don't expect it in a three-for-a-dollar deal.

Yikes, this is VERY disturbing.... I JUST made a verbal agreement to sell off my CPS tourney set to help fund a purchase of Majestics. The seller will be depositing funds into my account tonight, but I might want to have them hold off in light of this issue. I hate to back out of a deal, but if the Majestics all have this diameter issue, then they're junk IMHO. And I was only selling the CPS chips, since everyone was saying how much of an upgrade these chips are.

I'd much rather have thickness issues than this diameter issue...

Please someone post and tell me that this is a weird anomaly, and that most all the Majestics are perfect!!!

I don't have racks...I know...I know...

As far as I can tell all of my hundos are the same diameter...I have no blue chips yet...my blanks are on the way.

Diameter inconsistency? Seems weird even for china clays. Maybe putting 40mm chips in 39mm racks could be the problem. Did you stack them vertically and just compare them that way?

I know it's not a rack but I took them out evened them out...put them back...the back row is up because I jammed them in.

If true this is a pretty extreme flaw to have this ho-hum-deal-with-it attitude about... I just can't see you posting this if the CPS chips you put so much time and effort in to came in with this issue.

Every single china clay chip line ever produced has flaws, including the CPS line. Which flaws are worse is really highly dependent on personal taste.

Like others, I'd like to see what the suspect chips look like when not racked and in stacks. If they only look different sizes when in racks, then I'd consider it a pretty minor flaw compared to thickness differences -- which can cause uneven stacks and miscounting. Of course, that's personal taste, as previously mentioned.

It's not news that uniformity is rarely achieved with inexpensive chips, unless one goes the route of injection-molded hard plastics (which have their own set of issues). It's also why I've long been a proponent of the Venerati ceramic line, which are by far the most uniformly produced set of chips on the market for under 40c/chip that aren't ABS.

@Psypher1000 , you have any pics of the blacks and blues in stacks?

I can confirm, the hondos have some consistency issues when it comes to diameter. It's most noticeable when the chips are in racks.

But honestly, I think it's hardly noticeable when handling/stacking the chips in a playing/game environment.

Of course, YMMV...

Are there 2 sizes...or multiple different sizes in those hundos? I'm pretty sure mine are ok.

Just wondering if it's 2 different batches and 2 sizes or multiple sizes in one batch....

As you can see from my third picture, the purple, green and yellow chips are very uniform. They are in Chipco racks as well so it is not a rack issue.

While they are definitely still playable, and more than likely my players will not notice the difference, it is somewhat upsetting given the fact that all the other chips are so uniform. I understand that these are "cheap chips" and I appreciate all the effort Josh put into these but it appears the quality control for some of the molds was a bit lacking.

Because of this issue these chips were knocked down from potentially being my second best tournament set to just another set that will see play from time to time.

Overall I am happy with the set; just not excited about them.

After going through my chips in more detail, it looks like there are two different sizes.

I only got 50 hondos, as I'm using them for a cash set. I was able to get two perfect barrels (40 chips total) of uniform chips, and had 10 left over of the 'smaller size.' I guess those will just serve as my extras. :P

Most likely two (or maybe more) different outer ring molds. That's where dimensional differences (and lack of adequate QC to catch it) were probably made.

I have a sample set ordered. I'll keep in mind that if I do order chips, I won't get any black chips. Problem Solved!:D

That's where I was going with it...Josh will need to have the factory find the issue for future orders.

I'm going to send Josh an email with pictures.
Cool, thank you. I eagerly await the outcome of this as I am sure many of us are. (I also have 500 chips invested, although not nearly as much as some).

Someone rang?

Got pics in upright stacks? How prominent are the differences in play? And which size is 'normal' when compared to other chips -- the larger size or the smaller size? Were the sizes mixed in the factory wrappers?

I foresee a WTT thread where people can swap out chips to get uniform sets.
