Controversial Chip & Poker Opinions (36 Viewers)

I’ve always agreed with one of your previous takes on this. People should have to list where they got the chips and for how much.

And if you’re gonna flip chips, at least pretend you’re a chipper and make up a reason why you got the chips and are moving on. Blatant attempt at thievery without conning is just sad
It's like everyone saying we should have term limits for politicians but it never happens.

Everyone thinks it's a great idea, but no one does it. And no one does it because it would put (enter a large number here)% of the site members on blast who would rather not be put on blast. Would've been great to socially enact something like: "Don't threadcrap if you don't always share initial cost of chips when selling, both publicly on site and PRIVATELY."

Controversial opinion:

I hate Tinas.

I know it's controversial because at the prices flippers have driven chip prices to, my next set of chips will be Tinas.
I'm in a love hate relationship with Tinas. It's a great price to get a set of chips I can't justify buying the THC version of. But having played with a couple sets. They just don't stack well from the few I played with.

$2000/rack? So what, charge $6900/rack, who cares? Most likely no one will buy it, and if they do, they deemed it worth it, and so should the seller lose out. And don’t pretend some naive chipper is spending $2000 on a rack without knowing what they are buying.

Is the outrage because it feels like intentional flipping? Can you not see we chippers change our mind all the time?

Is it because the last barrel bought was under $200/barrel? Do you know what he paid for the other 4 barrels? Don’t assume you know what he total he’s into these are.

As an Econ major, my prediction is these will sit because no one thought the last barrel was worth even half the asking price per chip. But he has the right to ask what he wants.

This guy has been on the site for a while and is not the iceman. Being over optimistic about the potential sale price doesn’t mean he deserves to be crapped on.

My "Devil's Advocate" response:

Multiple posts of "Item A" valued at "$X +$50" creates a misleading perception that A=X+50.

To complete the argument (where I think you are going): it's bad for the market because it could raise the price of chips based on nothing? Essentially chipflation?

If so, I can see that.

Someone should buy all the chips.

And then sell/list/give them away for free.

Then because everyone’s SO against flipping, every chip forever would be free right? We’d all just be buying/selling/trading at $0.00 per chip forever of course!

(Also, do dumba***** like me who lost money on chipping get a refund in this scenario? Tell me where I submit my application!)
