Out of the names posted these are the ones that I thought had potential. I marked my favorites of the bunch with *** with The Anarchy Club and The Arcadia Room leading the way. This is just my preferences. Nothing is written in stone yet. Lets not get our panties in a bunch. This is just to try and drive the discussion towards a few of the current listed names.

Were just a little over a third of the way to our 8k commitment. We obviously have a long way to go.

i'm partial to the simpler names, for the most part avoiding the definite article "the" and indications of "card room" "poker room" "social club" etc. [edit: most of these were not originally my suggestions, I'm just offering commentary on some of them.]

"Anarchy Club" is supposed to evoke thoughts of the book/movie Fight Club, so needs the "Club".

"Arcadia," "Aphelion," "Affinity," "Armando's," etc., work well for me as one-word names, like a bar/nightclub name.

"The Aristocrats" kind of reminds me of the Penn Jillette movie (not necessarily a bad thing).

"4 Aces" works because there are 4 A's around the perimeter. Maybe the '4' could be a stylized 'A', for example.

"Aloha" could work if the colors were selected to somehow evoke a south pacific mood/motif.

"The Asylum" suggests poker is a sanctuary from the pressures and problems of real life.

Solid suggestions sir. Thanks.

I'm sorry. I'll add it when I get to a PC

Were very slowly getting there :)

Probably in for a medium-sized set if using Cali colors and "Anarchy Club" with appropriate logo.

This should read "Four Aces Social Club"

good catch. Fixed it.

Sir, Added you to the OP. I'm not going to add anything to the count totals just yet. FWIW, I agree, Anarchy Club would get my leading vote. Cali colors is the game plan.

Like the first one; would make a good hot-stamp (with denom on reverse side). Would make for a nice tattoo, too. :)

Last one also has promise.

I like one and five. I also think 4 has potential.

As for tattoos. That is more Colleens area. Not a fan lol.

While waiting I tried doing a quick search for images of some of the other suggestions and wasn't happy with anything that popped up

I like 1, 2, and 5. 2 is sort of the "classic" anarchy graphitti. 4 just looks like a variation on 2. 1 and 5 look like they are advancing the concept into something like a movement. 1 in particular looks (to me) like an elegant evolution of the concept.

I agree that symbol on one face, denominations on the other face is attractive.

I'd like to see these worked up in some colors that are at least a little "off", not just standard white-red-green-black or (cali) blue-yellow-black-white. Dayglo would probably be cool. The hotstamp could be red foil (is red a chaos color?). And I'd love a 25c frac, but not sure what color.

Looking at the color chart, may I suggest trying (cali colors):
25c dayglo tiger, retro lavender, dayglo pink, or dayglo green;
$1 dayglo peacock;
$5 dayglo saturn;
$20 charcoal,

or (traditional colors):
25c dayglo arc yellow;
$1 dayglo peacock;
$5 dayglo pink;
$20 charcoal OR $25 dayglo green or light green.

I want to add that if we get this done in time and I can 5 get the chips in hand before the Hitching post meet up I will gladly hand deliver them to save me the hassle of packing them and to save you some shipping costs

If like to stay close to the chip color scheme in the OP. Maybe a dayglo tiger instead of pink for the quarter.

Open to options. Only phone access right now.

No idea on how to do the mock ups. Way outside my skill set

I'm kind of getting excited about this. I'm going to contemplate selling my Samurai Palace set of this gets any traction

I'd also like to suggest that "Anarchy Club" text doesn't necessarily need to appear on the chips (even though they would always be "Anarchy Club" chips to me).

If somebody likes the design, that hot-stamped fancy "A" could theoretically represent anything they want it to be (Atlanta Underground, Andover Poker, Aces Cardroom, whateva). Makes for a semi-generic chip that potentially has appeal to a much larger audience. The fact that the "A" motif goes hand-in-hand with the A-mold is a key to the chip's success.

re colors --- typical Cali colors (although there is lots of room for variation here) are:

25c red
$1 blue
$5 yellow
$20 black
$25 purple
$100 white

Taking some liberties with those, possible CPC colors could be:

25c dayglo pink
$1 dayglo peacock
$5 dayglo tiger
$20 charcoal
$25 retro lavender
$100 bright white

As much as I like charcoal in general (and $20 chips for cash sets), I'd be hard pressed not to go with a retro lav $25 for that set. Great set of colors. Could even include a dayglo green nickel.

What about different color hot stamping on each chip? Silver on black or white, green on green, red on red, gold on yellow, blue on blue?

I don't think I would be a fan of that. To inconsistent for me lol. I would definitely consider the "red" stamp as it does kind of fit the "Anarchy" logo.

Agree completely on pulling J5 in to do the design. A good hotstamp design is the balance between graphics, font and font weight and size, and denominations. They don't have to be centered. They can be offset, etc.

As I mentioned before I think you'll find that your original chip colors are a really good start - it feels like you're going backwards a bit on that. A white chip will give you the chance to use a colored foil like a brilliant red or blue. Canary could use a colored foil as well.

Once we get close I'll reach out to one of our designers and see what the cost and time frame will be. As for the colors. As stated I would like to stay in the "cali color" family.

Anarchy Club.

The first rule of Anarchy Club is,
There are no rules in Anarchy Club.

The second rule of Anarchy Club is,
Always break the rules.
Except for rule #1.

Easily my favorite of the listed choices so far. Especially if we go with the graphics. Arcadia and Four Aces would be next in line for me.

I'd also like to suggest that "Anarchy Club" text doesn't necessarily need to appear on the chips (even though they would always be "Anarchy Club" chips to me).

Solid suggestion. My concern is that were not going to come close to the 8k chip minimum due to the timing of this with the Horse Shoe chips/hybrid BJ/Ceramic set/and Atlantic cash set. Sucks, cuz I'm loving the Anarchy theme.

If we can't hit the 8k minimum and a handful of the guys that really like this set I would still consider moving forward with this and splitting the die costs between whoever is interested. That would of course be pending that I could put the funds together for the added expenses.

I'm open to different color combo's. As long as we stay within the cali colors. I still think I'd rather stay with a 20.00 chip. I have no interest in a nickel chip. Not sure there would be enough interest to warrant it.

A couple of more mock ups. .25, 1, 5, 20, and 100 chips.

I'd have to look at @ChaosRock samples again. Any chance the Dayglo Pink and the Dayglo Tiger would be to close to each other?

I promised myself I wouldn't get temped by this GB as I have just gotten a hot stamp set done... It's been hard...

Things that might put me almost IN:

Peacock $1s and Tiger $5s
Anarchy Club theme
Silver foil

Things that might put me almost OUT:

DG Pink 25¢* (nothing against DGP but Pink/Orange combo not my favorite)
Gold foil

*Although I can always get a set without quarters.

strangely, the dayglo tiger in their color chart looks like a rather pale orange shade, like a creamsicle, whereas the same name in their chip design tool gives a bright red color with only a slight orange tinge. i wonder if they reversed the dayglo tiger and dayglo peach in the color chart?

similar issue with the dayglo saturn - it's very pale/bright yellow in the color chart, but noticeably darker than dayglo yellow in the design tool.

By the way, anarchy is not really a theme/theory that I'm good with or something I want my chips to have stamped on them. It's not appealing to me. But I think it'll look cool on a stamp and if that's what the group wants and it gets more people on to this group buy, then more power. (Power to the people I guess) I might not be part of it though. Sad face.

Thanks. Anarchy is my clear #1. At this stage of the game nothing is set in stone. I also like Arcadia and 4 Aces. Hell, were still 4k worth of chips from even getting serious about this.

Just an interested bystander at the moment ... not sure if I can swing it. But, had a few minutes and felt like putting the following together. Warning: this was thrown together in PowerPoint by someone who has no idea what he's doing. Using a Microsoft Office font, no less.achip.jpg
