Printers, the vast majority of the time, use CMYK which is a mixture of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and blacK. It can replicate a good amount of colours, Only catch is, there are millions more our eyes can see than CMYK can reproduce.
Complicating matters, RGB, which computer monitors, tv’s, phones etc use can display a wider gamut than CMYK is capable. This is the first problem.
Making matters even worse, everyone’s devices are calibrated differently. Monitors especially. So what what looks one way on my monitor probably looks slightly different on another monitor.
Typically, it’s fine but using RGB colours and converting to CMYK to print can bring about unexpected results.
