There was also the Mid Autumn Festival and the National Day Holiday from Oct 1 - Oct 8, so the factories were shut down for a holiday week as well.

While China is one of the few first world nations that overworks its employees more than the US, they deserve a break sometimes...

Just so everyone knows I am getting really frustrated with the payment portion and not having chips here yet.

Going to have to do a bank process here for the last few and I don't exactly have a lot of out of office time during the day.

RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sean is halfway to Mexico with either a very full PayPal, or a Uhaul full of chips.

Okay, since didn't want to add $600 and couldn't swing it financially anyways. The rest of this is going to get paid next week since I have to go to a bank and to bank transfer.

UGH this is a bit much!

What's the issue with the payments? Are they holding our next shipments ransom??

Hope that's not the case... Haven't they been paid 50% ($10k) and shipped 15% (11k chips)?

If anything, I'd say it should be the other way around. They need to provide more output before they get more money.

If I do it by credit card there will be like 3 payment of $200 ($600).
I don't have that extra in my account and I don't want to add it to the bill.
So I have to do a bank transfer. I don't have time to go to a bank until Tuesday.

Really a bummer they are making it so hard to wire them the money, but as @TheDuke said - chop chop with the portion you already paid for  :ROFLMAO:

Hoping to the tracking is updated with the first shipment Monday or so. A new thing to watch how long it get to my house. https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?tracknumbers=396830808388
Still not in the US yet.

Couple questions:

Is this the only tracking number for the first shipment?

How accurate is FedEx tracking in terms of shipment weight? Is it usually just an estimate or is it dead on? Shouldn't 11k chips (9-10g each) weigh over 100kg? Just a typo on Fedex's end?

bank transfers are easy - don't sweat it - just bring all of the pertinent information with you. And double check everything before you hand it over.

How's internet banking in the US? Do you really have to go to an actual bank facility to send money?
US consumer banking is stuck in the dark ages. Unless you have an account with an international bank online banking is antiquated. For me, if I try and do an online payment they physically print a check and mail it to the recipient!

They wouldn't allow international transfers online but I was able to email them a form with the info and they did the transfer after calling me to confirm.

The big issue is the time issue. I can't get to the bank until Tuesday at the earliest. Also dealing with insomnia isn't fun.

Have you tried Melatonin?
It can help to turn off the wheels spinning in your head.

Maybe you should wait to pay her anything else until you actually get the first shipment. She looks shadier each day. Especially asking you to pay for everything and she has only made 15% of the order

I was wanting the first orders in here before I sent out the remainder of the payment.

20 years from now, a bunch of newbie chippers are gonna be asking among themselves:

"Anybody know the story behind the sudden influx of really cool ceramic chips that appeared in 2020?" "Wasn't that the year of the china covid crisis" "Yeah, I think so - wonder if they're related?" "Are they real casino chips? Maybe a bunch closed during the plague." "Dunno, I couldn't find any history about them on the web sites of any ceramic manufacturers during that era." "What's scrub donkey mean?" "No idea, but these chips are really nice. And only $10 each!" "Yeah, I think most Paulsons are overpriced at $50 per chip."

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
