Custom artwork group buy. US/CAN CARDS MOLD (6 Viewers)

I may have missed it, but is the artwork REQUIRED to be AI or SVG, or just highly recommended?

I typically work at incredibly high resolution in Photoshop and export in high res TIFF or print ready PDF which is am certain is good for printing (AI and SVG just ensures it is good for printing). I am almost finished designing the chipset and two different inlay themes and realized I didn’t check the requirements.

Don't think what file it is as long as the file IS vector art, not rastor. If you can convert the TIFF to vector if it is high enough resolution and do some tweaking on it afterwards, you should be fine.

But are you certain the company REQUIRES vector files? I am certain my rasterized files are acceptable for print quality and I am happy to except those results. Converting those to vector is messy and time consuming. It’s honestly faster and more accurate to recreate, which I am not excited about doing. As a matter of fact, I would prefer just to pay someone to do that.

From my experience speaking with one of their representatives, they did tell me the designs NEED to be vector. They had to match certain Pantone colors where the original colors they were not able to print. So even if the printing method is Dye Sublimation, they still need vector, and possibly if you want specific colors, it may be cost extra. At least from my experience when I previously worked as an expediter/designer for customers and working alongside printing vendors.

Thanks @AnteAndy and @SeanGecko! That was the answer I unfortunately expected. I wish I read more carefully before I started :banghead:

So they Can only work with specific colors as well? I did notice a color wheel on Bosco’s files but I just assumed those were the colors he used. Perhaps those are the only colors they can print?

That would be strange for a ceramic, wouldn't it?

I assumed the same thing too, where I reworked the colors and designs on the Aces Tourney set, and asked their CS if they can print a sample with the colors provided, which I used only from what was available in the color wheels. They told me they couldn't use the colors since my specific colors weren't in their system for printing.

Does anyone have any cheap single ceramic chip they can send me for comparison? I have never considered ceramics before. I can pass it on with the ones I get here to the next person.

This sounds awesome. At this point, I have zero experience with artwork. What are the options of piggybacking anybody else's art? I know the Aces are a thing... I'm also aware of the creative tools, I'm just not creative when it comes to this stuff. Especially in the time frame. If I'm just being a tool or ultra lazy, call me out. Otherwise, any direction would be helpful. I'm interested in 1-1.2k

Following and very interested in these probably with the Aces artwork. Will post later with chip counts or questions.

@AnteAndy Did you edit that blue frac you showed off earlier to have fewer edge marks than the original? The AI Doc has it with 8 marks instead of 4 but I like yours better!
@Eloe2000 I would love to see what you come up with in terms of artwork/theme if you are still making it available to PCF'rs
I have no skills to design my own :D

I'm gonna build a micro cash set. Design will be something like this (it's not final, but I am pretty sure these will be the colors). Anyone is welcome to piggyback on it if they really want to. Tinkering with a couple other ideas, as well.

I am pretty much just tweaking the artwork of the inlay, but it is done. It was the chip lineup that I was finalizing. Chips will be very brightly colored.

I have zero computer graphics skills. So these are about a 0% chance to happen. But you never know? I might not even like my sample of chips, then it won't matter...

Edit: How the heck did I forget Mike Tyson's Punch Out?

Not liking your sample chips...... funny....
I'm a picky bastard!

(I've owned sets of house molds, RHC, Paulson, Matsui, china clay, 39mm, 43mm, new, and used. In the end, I required some mildly broken in leaded THCs with textured inlays, that's it. Everything else falls short. But those are expensive, so I can only afford so many of those to rent. For my "crap ton of chips" set, though, I'm still on the lookout.)

Put you on the list do you need to get samples first?

I'm in the same boat as you! All my sets are thc in exc condition and I hate most ceramics. I actually like these. Would I pay .70/chip for them? Probably not, but at .30 it's an insane bargain for fully custom chips imo

I don't like ceramics. Then I played with these and I am off to the races!

Hey Stagger -- Saw your avatar. FWIW, I was farting around with a Jerry Guitar Wolf for mine. Don't think I'm gonna use it. So it that intrigues you, I could dig it back up and send your way. When I was playing with it, looked pretty good on a chip. The round shape sorta worked. And always thought a standard Stealie might be a simple solution too. PM me if either of those something you want to chat more about. Happy to lend a hand for a fellow Colorado Deadhead on the set-up.
