Faded Spade FSX (20 Viewers)

Didn't Faded Spade make a set of RFID cards a few years ago? Wouldn't make sense for the home games but I recall seeing them online when I got my first sets back when Jason Sommerville was partnering with his Run It Up brand

They are available now. I would appreciate some reviews in the future if anyone will try them out. Unfortunately it is still expensive to ship to Europe when you don't order bulk.
And they came out with poker size first. Stupid. Been sold out of bridge for months. Annoying!

I realize that Faded Spade is just now launching their new FSX line, but if I didn't know better I seriously would have assumed that they were going out of business. I mean as of today their website only lists 4 types of cards to begin with, of which 2 types (WPT & RFID) are already listed as being sold out. Then of the 2 types that are shown as being available, one type (FSX) only comes in poker size and one type (Midnight) only comes in bridge size. And both of those guys are marked with sale prices which almost makes it look like they are simply trying to clear out their final inventory. The only other products shown on their entire site are just tacky branded items like baseball hats and shirts that absolutely no one would give a crap about. It seems to me like a playing card manufacturer that offers basically zero selection of playing cards is probably not very long for this world.

Faded Spade FSX poker playing cards are the best playing cards in the world. FSX offers an intentional balance of thickness and flexibility not found in any other playing card on the market.

"Thick" like a tree branch, "Flexibility" like an 80 y/o grandmother.

Obviously, this is who they are competing with:

I ordered a set up as well. While I'm more of a bridge size fan, I do think their WPT cards are pretty good, so we'll see how these compare. Hopefully, they'll also roll out bridge size options next month for comparison with the 3.0's I have.
They're going to milk it. Probably bridge size next month, then poker size 4 color, then some novelty bullshit, then poker size in another color, then bridge in another color, etc

First impressions in no particular order:

This is the most textured stock of any of the four runs so far. Both the card backs and faces have lots of texture. The stock still has that same trademark stiffness that would make a 30 year veteran of poker dealing retire after one full dealer rotation of hand shuffling. They do pitch and glide well and don't seem slippery like all three previous stocks, however.

Much closer to V2 than any of the other offerings, which I incidentally liked the best of any of their offerings, so there's that.

I spoke with the poker room manager of my nearest casino (Rivers) which uses FS cards. Asked whether they were going to get the new FSX decks, but he said they have a stockpile of at least two years worth of the older version, so no upgrade until they run out.

I ordered a set of these to try and they "shipped" almost immediately, but since Thursday they've been apparently sitting in a shipping container at some company called ACI Logistix in Compton, CA. I live in Los Angeles so the fact they're so close and just sitting there is annoying/hilarious.

Mine showed up today. I will play with them this Thursday & leave a review for all you haters, I mean players out there.

My first impression just feeling them is that they seem exactly like the latest World Poker Tour Faded Spades. Same texture front & back. Same flex. Which is great news to me & my Shuffletech that has yet to have even 1 jam over at least 10 sessions.

I prefer the old pattern on the back but it's so similar I'm sure I'll be fine with it. Hopefully more deck colors will be available soon.

Hopefully I've not jinxed these FSX but like I said before I'll chime in after Thursday Night.

Would love to hear back with the FSX in Shuffletech since I want to grab the 4-color variant eventually.
My FS 3.0s have had like 1 manual fix required jam per hour and at least 2-3 jams that may or may not fix itself.

The 3.0's tended to warp a little. Shuffletech likes flat. My 2.0's work better than the 3.0's in my experience. So far I've never had any brand/type of card work better than the new WPT Faded Spade. I'm keeping my fingers crossed these are the same.

Agree with most of the above reviews on the new FSX cards. They have a substantial texture front and back that is coarse or gritty feeling, but they shuffle well and have the usual FS more rigid flexibility. They piitch fine and there didnt seem to be any top card slide. They are definitely similar to the WPT FS versions, but after a brief comparison of the two, the FSX felt perhaps a touch more textured (especially on the backs if I recall) and maybe a little thicker of a card. I usually prefer bridge size and play with those, and hopefully, next month a bridge size version will be available for comparison with the bridge 3.0's, but these poker size versions seem good (although a bit on the pricier side).

I got my decks in the mail today. I’ll leave my thoughts on them when I open the FSX package and give them some riffles.

I want to like them as they are beautifully designed visually. I like the bright white, texture of the cards, index and face cards, front and back designs… but I do not think I can ever get past how thick and rigid the card stocks are for these decks. Personally this is my first time experiencing the Faded Spade brand but figured I would give them a shot on this new release. I’ll stick to my Copags for any regular games I hold/deal as more economical a choice and just better flex and feel for long night of dealing. I could see FS being very frustrating for an entire night dealing which would outweigh the visual appeal overall to me.

I will always love KEMs more than any other but in terms of swapping out brand new decks… Copag.

Interested in selling/swapping your FSX?
Willing to pay or send unopened Copags (got these from Shuffletech but already had Copags ripe for use).

I might be wrong but the FX seem to be using the same card stock as V2

V3 is a downgrade from V2 for me as they wrap / bend very quickly after usage, whereas V2 have the card splitting issue

How were the cards? Similar? Preferred?
So to me they seemed a lot like the latest Faded Spade WPT cards if not the same.

I'm the dedicated dealer with a Shuffletech & these (& the WPT) are my favorite cards of all time.

The texture makes them incredibly easy to deal & the edges seem to be beveled so collecting them is so much easier then when the edges are squared off. I imagine this also improves hand fatigue shuffling stiff cards over the course of a long session too. (I only shuffled pre-game)

Graphics on the Front are the same as regular FS which I love. A cross between standard size Pips & Jumbo is esthetically pleasing to my eye but the design of the card Backs are a little different to which I give the nod to the older version.

I like the supplied cut-card. I feel all premium setups should include one & this one pops more than any I've seen before. (Interested to see if the gold holds up or if it wears out)

Are they the same as the WPT? I think so. My calipers say the FSX deck is .2mm thicker than the WPT version but maybe that's within tolerance? I will try alternating 1 deck from each set-up soon over an upcoming session to see if I can feel the difference.

How would any current FSX owners compare it to the Bicycle Prestige cards? I like the flex that Copag has, and consider the Bicycle Prestige just a bit stiffer but negligible.
