I've been meaning for quite some time to create a thread as a running blog, to document all the degeneracy in my game room. Not sure the room has an official name, but the table and chips say “Fat Tire Poker”, so that’s a start.
I’ll start out with some historical perspective, by posting pics of previous setups, a glimpse into the journey to where I am now. I’ll follow up with some photos of previous notable games, along with some of the cast of characters you’re likely to see in this thread. Then look forward to regular updates on all the debauchery. Feel freee to comment, or if you are ever in the Madison area, stop on over for a beer and some poker.
Before we start... I host an annual chip degen-a-thon (Mad-Town Throwdown), but this BLOG will not include action from these games. These chip meetups have their own home (respective blogs). I'll provide links below:
MTTD1 (be forewarned, this blog was on an older outdated site, most pics links are bad)
MTTD2
MTTD3
MTTD4
MTTD5
This was the inspiration for the room... yup, this neon sign. Inspired the table felt, the chip inlays, and even the chip base colors.
Here was my first table build. A 50” topper to an existing pub table... worked really well.
The pub table, with foosball in the foreground.
I wanted a bigger “Hold’em” table, so I scoured CL, found a junky Chinese table, and completely refurbished it. It was still a POS.
Eventually I built this table. Secured these $350 HON chairs (insane steal at $9 each).
Then I needed a place to store all my chips. I had these drawers made (took a lot of finesse to install correctly).
Here are some of my nicer chips. 2000+ Benny’s Riverside Paulsons, and my custom CPC Fat Tire tourney set.
A standard table wasn’t quite enough, so I set to working building THiS table. It was a labor of love, but the results speak for themselves..
Needed more cupholders, so I piggy backed off a @T_Chan order with @Jason and snagged these drink carts.
Wanted more nice chairs, so I scoured CL some more and eventually found more HON chairs. These are cloth, and not quite as nice, but again, I only paid $10 each.
Here’s the overall room, with two tables setup..
The room got some new powered theater seats. Comfy
Here’s the workout room with a third table setup (snagged this from a buddy of Phil Helmuth, who had a number of these tables left over after a PH charity event in Madison).
The Mrs. ...she’s not a huge fan of poker and gambling, but she can get into the spirit (or troll me) from time to time..
