Agree that Primer and Coherence share a similar vibe.

My kids when I mention Primer:
"We know, we know. The greatest time travel movie ever. Got it, Dad."

John Boorman's Excalibur (1981) - Movies don't get much better than this imo.

All-star cast, no CGI, awesome soundtrack, and Nicol Williamson as an incredible Merlin.

Anáil nathrach, ortha bhas betha, do cheol déanta.

If you want a good time travel movie… Time Bandits

Timecrimes and Triangle also both very decent.

I went down a serious time travel movies rabbit hole at one point. Books too. Nothing touches Primer.

Can’t believe nobody said Rounders

Rounders isn't even in my top 25.

Here are some of my favorites that nobody has mentioned:

Baraka
The Right Stuff
Senna
Saving Private Ryan
The Departed
Aliens
A Clockwork Orange
Snatch

Unfortunately removed from my list because of Kevin #*@%ing Spacey:

Se7en
The Usual Suspects

For me, nothing has ever been able to top The Shawshank Redemption.
Second by a very narrow margin is Million Dollar Baby.

The ones that come close to those two that I haven't seen on this list:
  • The Silence of the Lambs
  • The Road to Perdition
  • Brooklyn

Platoon had a couple of minor departures from 'Nam reality, but it was mostly authentic.
That movie helped me get prommoted in basic. I quoted it whenever I could, when the drills were around. They loved it. I think I watched it everyday the summer before I joined the infantry.

Could be -- it's been a long time since I've seen it. Didn't see many shotguns over there though.
What about “We were soldiers..” Sam Elliot is just standing up with a 1911 plugging NVA regulars. He wouldn’t have lasted half the magazine lol

I could see them used for tunnels and bunkers.
The character Bunny runs a shotgun in the movie. I would have traded or lost that shit real quick!

What year(s) we’re you over there?

Dang you were there around the Tet Offensive?

I was in Korea for a year with 2ID 9INF (Manchus) 01-02. Then attached to a scout troop in 2/14 Cavalry outta Ft. Lewis. Fun times and some crappy times!

Probably "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

"Blues Brothers" is really high up there.

I still enjoy the "Back to the Future " trilogy as well

I watch "The Cincinnati Kid" a lot, maybe as much as ""Rounders."

I really like "Major League" as well. "Bull Durham" is a close second for me as best baseball movie.

I could go on and on.

Anyone else here enjoy UTurn? I still think that's a great flick. Of course, I enjoy most Sean Penn movies.
