Fellow Chippers please help (1 Viewer)

I recently made a purchase from a member in Russia, the chips were supposed to take a week or 2 , but there was no tracking updates for almost 2 months after pickup in Russia.
I was worried, but at least the seller was understanding, communicative and helpful, he found out from their Post Office the box ended up going by sea instead of air in error, and offered to refund if they didn't arrive in a few weeks ( they did ) ..

.....Any suggestions?

I currently have a similar problem with one of the vendors on this site.
I was not expecting anything to be done on my order yet, just been trying to get and update on status. Two messages since the end of May and no response. I suppose I should try again.

Hi Fellow Chippers,

I am a relatively new member who joined this year to PCF. I have recently purchased some chips from a pretty notable chipper in the community. The chips were paid for on the day, however, it has been 2 weeks since I asked for confirmation on whether the chips have been sent or not and have received no replies. I have asked just 3 times in this 2 week duration and have not bombarded the seller with too many messages.

I live in Australia and I know international shipping generally takes about 2 weeks. However, it is quite concerning since all I requested was a confirmation on the chips being sent.

Any suggestions?

Yea thanks man, that is why I did not wish to reveal the name of the member as of this stage. As a buyer not hearing back, just causes extra stress that we don't need. However, I do understand that there may be some unforseen circumstances.

The member I've checked has logged in a couple of times already since I replied. On the profile, I've seen 'Seen in a conversation a moment ago' multiple times. After each time, I've sent another message for confirmation. I've been patient, like sending a message every 3 days or so as to not hassle that member. That what is causing me to worry since still no reply... I thought it would be a courtesy to simply acknowledge like.. 'Chips sent' .

Yeah I'd be pretty pissed as well, it's definitely a courtesy to acknowledge when the chips get sent out (the same courtesy should also be given when you receive a shipment from a PCF transaction to let the seller know everything arrived intact, IMHO). Life often happens between chipping, but given the intermittent logins that throws that excuse out the window for the most part, unless someone else is logging in through the same account (it happens).

I'm assuming since you haven't divulged the member that you still don't want to, at this point that's what I would recommend. Not neccessarily even to "out" the member for torches & pitchforks, but someone may know this member outside of PCF (facebook, local card game) and be able to give the guy a "poke" to answer your PM. For future reference (and hopefully you never have to deal with the situation again), sometimes a quick public thread entitled "Looking for So and So" or "Anyone heard from So and So lately?" stating that you're trying to get in touch with someone (without getting into details why) will often be enough to jump start the communication back into gear.

Best of luck with the situation.

I can understand you not wanting to out the person. Can we at least agree that when you look at last activity and it says "was last seen viewing thread Fellow Chippers please help" and they still don't respond you'll go ahead and tell us?

I was trying to explain to my wife the whole concept of group buys and she wasn't quite getting it. I just participated in my first one and she was a little astounded - "you're going to send money, to some guy in Canada for something that you don't even have a real use for or even know if you'll receive it?" Yeah pretty much but I'm pretty confident it will work out. Then I showed her the group by thread for folding chairs and she walked away shaking her head. :p But seriously people seem to go above and beyond to be transparent - posting invoices, accounting for the cost of each item to the penny. That's the way to do it.
To lighten the mood a little - I have also tried explaining the concept of PCF transactions and it's definitely difficult for most people to understand.

I also have sent lots of money to Canada. I think money I send to Canada for chips and labels and such accounts for at least 12% of Canada's GDP.

For vendors, PCF conversations aren't always the best way to reach them. @OldWestPokerSupplies keeps up with email really well, and @palmgaming and @TheChipRoom sometimes are easiest to reach via phone, from experience.

@Dr Newnham have you had any progress with your seller? Probably time for an update either way.

Great points. I have found Sal very responsive to email. Palm sometimes lags with answers but you will get an answer and quicker if you copy the sales team. Jim at the Chiproom will answer but an answer may take a few days. All are honest and great to the community!

So the story so far, is that the seller is NoblecountryDanny, so far, I have finally received a message back. Apparently he was on holidays and his assistant could not post my chips for some reason. So it has now been posted around 9-10 days ago. Not yet received, but that's fine.

Seeing Rainmantrail post about the packaging, I certainly hope I do not end up with broken chips like that too, or else i'd say I will go apeshit as well lolz.

Will keep you guys posted.

Not a good week for Danny. Hope this one resolves smoothly.

So after around a month wait, my chips have finally arrived. They appeared to have no damage and has arrived safely.

If a chip expert on the forum could help.. is there a huge thickness difference between the TRK chips? Does anyone know whether the money tree line is thinner compare to the other TRK lines? Both have 20 chips in the stack.

My mint Money Tree $5 and $25 chips fit perfectly in 66.7 racks (standard Paulson width).

Wow, I've never seen such a difference in TRKs that are mint. Are both those stacks from the seller? Did they indicate such a huge stack height difference? Lots of split spots on the hundos too.

yes they are from the same seller.. and was never told there was such a huge difference in height of stacks... is this something that people would complain about? cause its really annoying looking at such a difference in stack height .

Different denoms aren't always stacked next to each other so it's quite possible that the difference was never spotted.

I have 1600 Mapes. All but 200 $1 are perfect. Even in the 1200 $5 barrels the stacks are not the same height. All uncirculated, all new. Not the same level when stacked in barrels.

its a quirk of the set. If you can't live with them. Let me know.
