Yeah I’d love to see more granularity, like other marketplaces have

Shipping speed: 1-5
Packaging job: 1-5
Chips as described: 1-5
Communication: 1-5
Satisfied: 1-5

Then people could make their own judgments. I personally wouldn’t care if someone was slow to ship.

Having said all this, I haven’t been burned yet and hopefully others feel I haven’t burned them. I think there’s one or two transactions out of hundreds where I might ding a seller if there was more nuanced feedback, but definitely nowhere near sending the Scarlett red letter this forum currently offers.
I’ve never gotten the speed thing.

Hey chipper who’s had these chips for 5 years and never put them in play. Please send me that package asap so I can unbox them and not use them for 5 years too!” :ROFLMAO:

I can’t fathom having someone steal chips worth thousands of dollars multiple times over without consequences. Perhaps several of you should file a complaint in the small claims court of his county. It’s been over a week that Marius said he talked to him.

Uh oh, at the onset people were vouching for poppin and moscowradio too.

Actually, is there a compiled list of PCF scammers somewhere?
Sometimes it’s not scams. Life and problems and mental issues come up, and a few have redeemed themselves.

It’s hard to understand but it’s not as easy as “snap out of it, it only takes a few minutes”. If it was that easy we wouldn’t have therapists. I’m in the tough love camp but I still have empathy and try to understand what others might be struggling with.
You can’t tell hoarders “just clean this up and you’ll be fine” and expect it to work. You should be able to, but the sad fact is that that’s just not reality. Talking louder doesn’t help either. Sometimes logic, no matter how sound, doesn’t solve the non logical problem.

Well said.

I agree with you, but at some point, enough time will have passed so that the situation edges closer to scam territory.

100%

Life comes at you. Add some jobs your working on, then a quick job that's easier that takes over. Then a friend needs an emergency job. Then more life. Then jobs. Then one job is harder and takes over. Then more damned life coming at you. Add a health complication and the mountain is high to climb.

It gets very heavy, very fast. And it's easier to stop communicating and buckling down than dealing with the drama. It's a snowball rolling down the hill getting bigger each rotation.

Like I said, being a vendor here isn't easy. At all.

It's just my opinion, and who knows, I could be wrong. And I'm not validating it, as I do my best to fight the same fight in my little business.

I would suspect he will pop up in a few weeks or months, with a few jobs wrapped, send em, and clear things up. If I had to gamble how it's gonna play out.....

^^this

^^especially this

^^this, but we don’t seem to learn very well - lol.

Deja vu
Eh. We will never "learn". PCFs model is built off trust. I mean, I'm a random jackhole in Idaho and people send me thousands of dollars of chips on a whim. They trust I'll do my part, and I'll trust they pay on the other side. The classifieds are a blatant part of this. People send someone 7-8k on a picture of chips with a name scribbled on a post it note.

We lose that trust, we might as well shut them down.

Moments where that trust will always be tested. Fuck ups will happen. Bad actors will appear and take advantage of it. Mistakes will occur. Trust and not changing from these mistakes is how we survive it. Learning to communicate and being honest with rough situations is the way we work thru it.

It's easy to become Cynical when these things happen (yes, I know I'm the king of it), but when you look at the landscape of what we have and what's been built here, these situations are few and far between. Generally the machine runs well on our trust and obsessive autism over tiny clay disks.....

But you are our lovable random Jack-hole, lol.

I agree, with one caveat. I think we could do a little better once the warnings signs of a bad actor become apparent (good intentions or otherwise). At the very least for the protection of fellow members.

That's the thing. When is it apparent? I'd say that's this, now. Because I've had jobs take 7-8 months. The actual timetable and the expected arnt always aligned.

But that's also where I agree and say communication is the key, and this is a mega cosmic fuck up.

^^this.

This is pretty much where the conversation lands every time it comes up - lol. I agree w/you.

Not sure if this is the right answer, but IMHO it becomes apparent (red flag) when communication stops and messages are not returned (within a reasonable timeframe).

Look at us agreeing on stuff. We're adorable.

I hope you’re right. How much time needs to pass for you to change your opinion?
He’s not going to sell the chips, he’s not keeping them for himself. That’s why we believe there will be a resolution.

Previous scammers took serious money and never sent chips.

Enough time has passed, yeah this is fucked up, no one disagrees with that, and has an absolute right to be pissed off. But I do think you will get your chips and money back.

Is @Marius L the only one with his contact info?

Yea, I sincerely hope it works out, but I’m trying to figure out at which point this becomes a scam? At 90 days delinquent like debt? Let’s say he hasn’t been selling them but he has been using them? Or if he hasn’t communicated nor sold them in 2 years? There’s gotta be a line somewhere.

false hope for other members, knowing you have more to do is enough for me to accept them as stolen.

I already went to the ride for 17 months for 134 chips.

I'm not saying I'm right because I think I'm right. I'm saying I'm right because I've gone on the ride. He would have zero reason doing piles of tiger racks for jobs (which he did a shit ton), but then decide this is the moment he's gonna scam everyone. The more likely reason is the exact same reason mine got somewhat fucked. Life and easier jobs took president, then the stack of pending jobs got ya fucked.

It’s not a scam.

I just remembered Nanook was helping Danny at pokerchipper with group buys. Danny may have his cell #.
