Rail implement an added bonus :wow:

I don't like the half moons, but the natural wood cut I love! Its something different. Reduce the race track back to an accent, maybe an inch wide, leave the half moons but much smaller and add a cup holder in it with about 1/2" boarder around, not sure I am a fan of red/maroon felt here. Usually do not like green but going with a hunting lodge motif here seems pretty fitting. Add an antler pattern overlapping for the bet line (brown inside the line) and something like Cedar Lodge Gambling Hall or something along those lines. A few accent/background/ silouet trees in the playing field and I could see this being a truly epic table.... but then again I'm just a dumb ole redneck! I can see it wouldn't be for everyone!

I very much appreciate the skill that went into building the table - you can tell that there was a lot of care and meticulous planning. It's just unfortunate that the end result of all that hard work doesn't live up to what should be expected of a) utility and b) comfort. I can't call it fugly, but I also can't call it useful.

So the dealer gets to have a giant knot jabbing them in the ribs/belly all night?

Clearly an example of someone with a lot of woodworking experience and no card playing experience.

This table makes me sad. As others have said, it's so close to being quite nice!

IMHO, drop the silly half-moon things...a place to keep chips, not on the same level as the felt? Doh.

And sorry but the out juts are nice, "natural wood" and all, but this isn't a coffee table you put your feet up on. Don't want that poking players!

MHO, drop the silly half-moon things...a place to keep chips, not on the same level as the felt? Doh.
Any structure to hold chips off the playing surface just makes no sense. Have these builders never been to a casino and/or played on a full felt surface? I’m talking to you, racetrack people; you’re doing it wrong.
Edit - boy am I grumpy lately
