I have a private group who is looking at holding a poker tournament and came to me for advice. Now I am coming to the pros within this forum. The tournament is a closed private tournament and will be held later this month. The question they posed to me is can they use my chips. Well for one I only have sets built for cash games and I was not sure I wanted to lend them my Paulsons. You know how "lending" goes! If you had a group wanting chips for not much money and were to have 20-30 players in a one rebuy tournament what chips and quantities would you recommend?

First rule of fight club....dont lend paulsons.
Second rule of fight club....

I recently started building a cash and tourney set on decent plastic chips. In my experience most players don't know the difference. The biggest reason I did this is because the people tend to abuse chips without ever thinking about their monetary or sentimental value. Save your good chips for the better crowds.

Order some China clays!

Is it a one-off kinda thing? The poker knights/showdown/monaco chips are pretty solid as far as playability and not too pricey. If they want to reuse them, maybe something with better feel would be nice.

T10k, starting stacks of 8/8/2/7

Full set is:
240
240
60
240
60

We'll need more information about possible future uses to expand on that, and a running time to give you a blind structure.

@Quicksilver-75 I know! It never crossed my mind to lend out any Paulsons. Some people do not appreciate the collectibles we have acquired!

@atomiktoaster - I was thinking the same thing on the kind of chips since I will be playing as well. I do not think I can go back to 100% cheap PLASTIC! I know these will be used a few times a year and probably no more than 20- 30 players or (4 tables max) at any given event. I asked them how long they want it to run and they did not have that set yet. I was going to recommend 3 - 4 hours, Your thoughts? (I have a feeling I will playing a more active roll in the organization of this tournament) and if that is a go on the time limit where would you go with structure and with rebuys in the first hour. How do you feel about add ons?
