Harvest Pron (3 Viewers)

Dedication I guess?

I knew I wanted to get a playable set out of the nugget before we got into town. So I pounded the poked room and the craps table there for three days to get my set. Basically I sorted any sharp chips and put them in my backpack throughout the weekend

My main harvest method is to play craps at a $10 table. Bet $10 on the pass line and $10 odds. And then place $10 bets on the 5 and 9 and $12 bets on the 6 and 8. Every time and 5,6,8, or 9 is hit, you get $14. Pocket the good $1s and tip with crappy $1s. It takes time, and you have to avoid consecutive brutal rolls or your bankroll takes a hit. But I managed to make it work. Bally’s craps table was really rough. Lost a few hundred playing this way. But had a nice run at the nugget to even things out as far as craps goes.

Limit poker games are also great harvesting opportunities. Boulder Station is great right now even though it sounds like they out of $2s. The $1s are really nice. Probably 25 sharp $1s per rack.

Circus Circus is brutally tough right now. Casino is only open at irregular times:

This was Vegas. On a Saturday. During March madness.

No craps tables until later in the night. They only had three tables open total Saturday afternoon and two were roulette. I actually stayed there just to try to get more $1s for my jack rabbit slim’s set. And I only got 58 chips out of there. We offered to tip the cage $100 and they still told us to piss off. Really tough to get chips out of there right now.

But overall, a great trip.
That’s some dedication alright, but nice reward!!! Well done

Now that my golden nugget set has hit the felt, I figure I’d post a little harvest pr0n from the trip @WhiteMamba1646 and I took last week. Amazing trip. Here is what I brought home:

A great reminder that iniative, graft and dedication are still the best ways to get yourself cheap Paulsons!

Congrats to you both — insane haul and well deserved! Definitely going to be hitting up Boulder Station next May; those THC $1s are so nice.

Just out of interest, did you do any asking directly at the cage for chips?

Also, where did you stay, hotel wise?

Yes , i was able to get a full rack of Golden Nugget $2’s by talking to the floor manager in the poker room for 5 minutes. I also got most of my Aria chips at the cage. Just a matter of having a little confidence and a backstory incase they ask questions. But most were from playing limit/craps

Absolutely love to hear it — I'll start crafting my backstory now, in that case! Congrats once again.

I had little to no luck asking cashiers or poker room managers. I asked for golden nugget $2s and was told I could buy two. I ended up tipping a dealer really well at one of the poker tables and he let me buy a barrel from him. Which I thought was crazy lucky. Until @WhiteMamba1646 showed up and worked his magic to get a full rack. He’s definitely had better luck working cashiers and poker room managers than I have. Though the circus circus cashiers even told him to piss off when he tried to get some ones.

I stayed at circus circus and @WhiteMamba1646 stated at flamingo. I recommend staying at a place you plan to harvest from. At a minimum you can ask for change every time you cut through the casino during the tip to harvest some ones.

I may stay at boulder next trip. The $1s are really nice. Heavy. Sharp. Unique. I really like them. And even though most of what is in play are worn RHC chips, we were seeing 20-30 sharp THC ones per rack. Buy three racks for limit. Sort and pocket the nice thc. Bet with the rest. We only played a couple hours at the limit holdem games and brought back over 4 racks between us. I think if you were dedicated over several days, you could end up with an impressive haul of awesome $1s.

Thanks for the added insight — really appreciate it.

Good to know about Circus Circus especially. I'll approach their cage with caution, haha — although can't blame them for not wanting to let go of their beautiful $1s.

I'm REALLY digging those Boulder Stations, too — what's the base colour, do you know? I'll probably concentrate my efforts there now, based on your success and relatively foolproof strategy.

Why do I think that scoring $1s at the roulette table is not really a way of getting chips cheaply?
I don't think I've ever played with $1s in roulette where they didn't change me for 'my color' chips. Only time I've played with denominations was when I was betting $5 or $25 chips. YMMV obviously.

I wanna say its sky blue but i dont have a color sample set

Congrats on the haul @wonderpuddle
What is the condition of the Ballys ?

I love these, have 4 racks of uncirculated $1 chips.
Was under the impression that it is hard to get these (and paid premium for mine @300/rack)

These were the biggest pain to try and harvest out of all the chips haha. Took forever to get those

Bally’s didn’t run limit the whole weekend so it wasn’t easy. And the ones I took this trip are decent at best. Definitely not minty. I lost several hundred at craps harvesting these so these effectively cost me about what your uncirculated ones cost. Want to swap? Lol.

A couple years ago I harvested a couple racks of minty Bally’s $1s playing limit. But that game wasn’t going this trip.

Paris is the same as CC. Very stingy unless you work your magic with a cage lady haha
Yeah Paris is ridiculous. On par with circus circus. I asked for $1s at the cage. As always, they told me no chips can be sold from the cage; gotta buy them from the table games on the floor. Craps tables were all full so I went to a table with no one playing. Asked the dealer for singles. He said “no, you have to buy them from the cage.” I laughed and said they told me I had to get them from him. Called over the pit boss. He asked me why I wanted them and took my driver’s license. After five minutes, he told me I could have five singles and gave me the rest in $5 chips. I eventually walked around and cashed the $5s in for $1s but it’s a ridiculous waste of time. I’ve harvested 500 or so Paris $1s over the years but the way they’ve trained everyone to shoot down anyone wanting dollars makes it not worth trying now.

Oh shit, I meant to say craps. Doesn't matter - pit games cost you money. That's their job.

Has anyone harvested any of these Caesars Palace $10? Wondering if they're still in use and available?

We need a 3/6 limit game at Circus Circus during the convention
If 20 of us roll up asking they might take the bait? Anyone know a poker room manager ? :P
Same with Sams town XD

That drivers license gets shared between casinos. BOLO. Im always telling my friends to be very careful. Sounds like he pegged you as a fun loving craps playing tourist. They are NOT that nice to locals. FYI. I’m not an attorney but I’m told it is agains the law in to take bulk chips off resort properties in Nevada. Always be careful and having lived in vegas I recommend always staying OFF property, even sister resorts, and ALWAYS get:

1. Sams
2. Circus
3. Paris
4. Flamingo
5. Mint $5s from Ballys

Always.
