Have Chinese cards mold replica sets gone too far? (1 Viewer)

Dishes are paper plates and you're the cheap ass and demands they are "washed and reused".
Just brush them off. You don’t put them in the dishwasher machine you craven blundering buffoon.

If the Maytag person has to visit again, I’m going to start wondering why you always arrange your schedule around him.

Also - I can’t believe I have to say this again - WE DONT NEED FIVE HUNDRED AND FUCKING TWELVE POTATO PEELERS. You can reuse them you foolish mind-wandering imp.

Yes we do. What if 511 of them break because you have giant ape hands?

I am hoping that one of the positives that comes from all of this is better pictures in the classified. The buyer is going to want to see the molds when they zoom in. It should be clear. In some sales, they aren't. There is definitely a difference between sales adds from experienced chippers and Newbie Johnny-Flip-its.
I doubt a change like that is going to come from this thread. Some sellers are just too lazy to take good pics. And in my experience, it's more likely to be the old timers, not the n00bs. Not necessarily the active members here, but those that have been in the hobby a long time, even if they aren't a big part of the community. They just figure anything Paulson, CPC, BCC or TRK that they post will be known to the other experienced chippers, so they post small, blurry pics and they don't care if newer members can't tell what they are selling.

I will when the chips arrive, probably September.

Uh oh. I had read somewhere here the exact opposite. My chips are no mold. I hope spinners will be at a minimum. I do realize the price point is lowwww so I can live with some spinners. I always wondered about CM spinners anyway: don't the centers have a slight recess? It seems that would result in fewer spinners as the center of the chip would be lower than the edges, reducing the "spinning top" effect. ??
This. I don't own many no molds, but it just seems logical that no mold would be more likely, not less likely to have spinners. Unless great care is taken in procuring the blanks so that they are slightly concave. I don't expect that from 30-40 cent "Tina" chips. I probably would expect that from $0.75-1.00 BR Pro Poker chips.

Aligned edges at BR Pro for semi-customs I've been looking at for a long time are now over $1 per chip.

While full customs are $2/chip. I am curious as to how much costs have increased on custom poker chips over the last few years since COVID. I have to imagine full customs price jumps are pretty recent.

It may be time to bury the horse on this one knowing that if someone comes here asking about whether the chips are real or tributes they will be helped and hope everyone knows when they are buying a knock off. This same thing happens in all other areas of retail, Does Coach stop all the fake handbags sold out of trunks and flea market booths?

Point taken, although to be fair the price goes down if you order over 500 chips. Still something like 1.15 each!

That's fair if you're getting 5-10% spinners as is generally reported. But if the entire rack is spinners, then the entire rack is useless and we shouldn't be telling people to buy that particular mold.

My experience with Textured No Mold is that it is about the same as Card Mold regarding spinner/slipperiness issues.

There is very few spinner before any usage But The slipperiness spinner increased more as you had more session with them.

Is someone here telling people to buy these even though they have entire racks of spinners? I haven't seen that. So not sure why your comment is relevant.

Moxie Mike said he got a whole rack of spinners. You seemed to suggest that for 30-40 cent chips, that was okay. Maybe I misread you.

And worth every penny.
I'm not saying they're not. I'm confident that when I get my group buy chips, I will say they too are worth every penny. I've seen posts from very happy new chip owners who love their "Tina" chips.
More to the point I was making, the Chinese mfg. are filling a gap in the market for fully custom LOW cost chips.

Yeah. When I think of you, it's dextrous.

This is surprising not because of excluding newer members. (I get it, you're probably not going to buy Tiger Palace if you don't already know what they are.)

What is surprising is that someone would buy high end chips with blurry pictures- do the buyers just base it on reputation? Do they just ask for followup pictures in PM?

I dibs and ask for followup pictures in PM, because #FOMO

It a legit reason to refuse the deal if the chips end up looking worn and fleabites
