Hot Dog Roller Recs? (14 Viewers)

I'm gonna take the Forum's advice and finally snag a hot dog roller instead of ordering pizza/sub trays for each game, but I wanted to see if you all had any advice on a particular brand or model that you like.

I also wanted to ask, as I have no real experience with hot dog rollers, can you cook things like Italian sausage or pop-open style hot dogs (like Zweigle's white hots, for those of you in the know), or do they start to curl up as they cook and not roll correctly?

You’ll never look back with the roller. I added a couple 2 quart crock pots and do sloppy joes and the occasional pulled pork.

Food is king.

Clean it while it is still hot and it cleans very easily

Set it at 250 and forget it. It takes a little bit to cook but you have no worries at all

When you do choose to clean it use an ice cube wrapped in a washcloth when she’s fired up to 300 degrees. Boom.

My Olde Midway Pro 18 arrived a couple of days ago, and I'll be firing it up soon. Planning on hotdogs and tacquitos. Any tips on temps (it has two temperature controls) as well as cooking/heating times for both? Hotdogs are fridge temp, tacqs are frozen.

Taquitos are tough, because they are so small. If you found some that turn well please let us all know

edit: I just placed a couple on and see they aren't rotating properly. Not really stuck, just sitting there. Come on Olde Midway, it's 2025 and this should be fixed. Let the people have their tacquitos.

Laying down some aluminum foil in the tray under the rollers can save some clean up time as well

Yea the issue was two fold. They are small and sink between the two rollers, and the rolled tortilla edge creates a lip that doesn’t rotate.

The tornados and roller bites look good. I’d make them for family or during events like a Super Bowl. I do not take a rake and these are a whole lot more expensive than glizzy’s ha

The more I think about this I wonder if taquitos have a chance to work if you are intentional about their orientation. Let’s say the item rolls so the near side moved downward, make sure the fold in the tortilla is oriented so it doesn’t run into the roller, rather rolls off it. Not sure that makes sense in text.
