After Connor McJesus gets an early goal, Mike Smith is having a rough day at the office...
I can do without a political message with my sports. I don't want to see Matt Dumba kneel during the US National Anthem and then stand for the Canadian National anthem.
I'm not mad at Canada or Canadians. But I thought it was presumptuous and disrespectful to Americans by Dumba and the NHL/NHLPA/HDA. But you do you, Dumba.
Baseball did a similar production. I haven't watched any basketball but I'm sure they followed suit, as will every other sport.I haven’t tuned into any games yet, mostly because I have no desire for politics/social bs when I watch hockey. If there’s any of that in games it will be hard for me to get back in. When I watch hockey I only want hockey, nothing else
Not stating whether I'm for or against, just wanted to make note that under Adam Silver, the NBA and NBAPA have been at the forefront of American sports in regards to player personal freedoms and outreach towards any social conversation, be that mental health, politics, etc.basketball but I'm sure they followed suit
Flames losing and the Oilers actually showing up to play in their second game made for a pretty entertaining couple hours of TV for me last night/this morning. That second goal though...
I bet!Flames losing and the Oilers actually showing up to play in their second game made for a pretty entertaining couple hours of TV for me last night/this morning.
Not going to lie, I thought it was going to be another long, losing night for the Oilers at 3-3... Huge win for them!Flames losing and the Oilers actually showing up to play in their second game made for a pretty entertaining couple hours of TV for me last night/this morning.
I'm glad this little play in happened. It shows Gorton and the front office that they should pump the brakes on the rebuild a bit. It's still a very flawed team with depth issues and cap albatrosses that will be going away by next year.Panarin took less money to go to the dumpster fire that is the Rangers...and now his season is done.
The Rangers might be worse than the Leafs when it comes to the futility of an Original 6 franchise...sure they put it together in 1994 (where the Leafs haven't won since 1967), but they are consistently under-achieving.
Then again, maybe they threw the series for a 12.5% shot at Laferriere...

They will have to be smart with how the cap is managed though. Yes, Lundqvist, Staal, and Smith will all be off the books, but Kakko, Zibanejad, Fox, Shesterkin, and Lindgren will all be due new deals in two years. I'm also not sold on DeAngelo and Chytil being long term solutions either.

I am no Rangers fan, but their biggest hole is defense. With another year for Panarin in that system, another year of experience for Kakko, a healthy Zibenajad, their offense will click, with or without Laferriere.
Haha there's no way this happens. I'm still in shock that they lucked into Kakko. You’ll be even happier it happened when the league rigs Lottery #2 to get you Lafreniere!
Heard about that on the radio! GDAMN!!You think Edmonton Oilers fans like their 50/50 lotteries??
It got up to $2.6 million for game 2... tonight's looking just a tad better!

We'll see em there.Congrats to the Panthers who just punched their ticket to the strip club tonight!
I think I'll stop following the NHL if the Oilers or Penguins get 1st overall
