How many NHL fans do we have here? (3 Viewers)

After Connor McJesus gets an early goal, Mike Smith is having a rough day at the office...

I can do without a political message with my sports. I don't want to see Matt Dumba kneel during the US National Anthem and then stand for the Canadian National anthem.

I'm not mad at Canada or Canadians. But I thought it was presumptuous and disrespectful to Americans by Dumba and the NHL/NHLPA/HDA. But you do you, Dumba.

I haven’t tuned into any games yet, mostly because I have no desire for politics/social bs when I watch hockey. If there’s any of that in games it will be hard for me to get back in. When I watch hockey I only want hockey, nothing else

Baseball did a similar production. I haven't watched any basketball but I'm sure they followed suit, as will every other sport.

Sports are were my escape from the BS...

Not stating whether I'm for or against, just wanted to make note that under Adam Silver, the NBA and NBAPA have been at the forefront of American sports in regards to player personal freedoms and outreach towards any social conversation, be that mental health, politics, etc.

NBA should 100% be avoided by those requiring their sports/entertainment to not make personal claims outside of the lines of their job, as it's not a current or recent development, but something that has purposely been ingrained in that culture and professional organization.

Flames losing and the Oilers actually showing up to play in their second game made for a pretty entertaining couple hours of TV for me last night/this morning.
I bet!

Not going to lie, I thought it was going to be another long, losing night for the Oilers at 3-3... Huge win for them!

Super bummed to see the Isles down by a goal after the 1st... Who starts a game at noon on a Tuesday? Super pissed that you couldn't find a radio broadcast to listen to at work. Super excited to see the Islanders won the game (still super pissed I couldn't find a live radio broadcast)...

Panarin took less money to go to the dumpster fire that is the Rangers...and now his season is done.

The Rangers might be worse than the Leafs when it comes to the futility of an Original 6 franchise...sure they put it together in 1994 (where the Leafs haven't won since 1967), but they are consistently under-achieving.

Then again, maybe they threw the series for a 12.5% shot at Laferriere...

Try being a Canucks fan...

At least they tied the series and didn't 0-2.

The saving grace for the rangers is that they now have the 1/8% shot at first overall pick.

I'm glad this little play in happened. It shows Gorton and the front office that they should pump the brakes on the rebuild a bit. It's still a very flawed team with depth issues and cap albatrosses that will be going away by next year.

They will have to be smart with how the cap is managed though. Yes, Lundqvist, Staal, and Smith will all be off the books, but Kakko, Zibanejad, Fox, Shesterkin, and Lindgren will all be due new deals in two years. I'm also not sold on DeAngelo and Chytil being long term solutions either.

Hoping the Preds pull off the win today, but who am I kidding? We are out in the first round of the actual playoffs unless we get Dallas. Against Dallas we actually have a chance.

You’ll be even happier it happened when the league rigs Lottery #2 to get you Lafreniere! :whistling:

I am no Rangers fan, but their biggest hole is defense. With another year for Panarin in that system, another year of experience for Kakko, a healthy Zibenajad, their offense will click, with or without Laferriere.

Absolutely. You have Staal and Smith that are absolute pylons, and DeAngelo whom was playing on one leg this whole series. Trouba and Lindgren are the only ones that bring some snarl, with the former especially being gaffe prone at times. Fox is a total stud but he looked out of shape.

They also have Lundkvist coming on the right side that I think is going to be a special player. Played 20 minutes a night as a 19 year old on a middle of the road SHL team and excelled at both ends of the rink. The numbers he put up in Sweden are basically unheard of. You have him, Fox, and DeAngelo that are sub 6 foot two way defensemen. It's not the popular opinion among other Rangers fans, but I'd deal DeAngelo this summer for a top 6 center. There's not enough room for him, Fox, Trouba, and Lundkvist.

Haha there's no way this happens. I'm still in shock that they lucked into Kakko.

Who would you rather NOT get the #1 drat pick? Oilers or Pengiuns?

I think I'll stop following the NHL if the Oilers or Penguins get 1st overall

I want it to be a West team. Any Western Conference team.

Not the Pens, not the Rangers, not the Maple Leafs most... by West team is better than any East team, even if it is the Oilers.

Sweep to the #1 Seed!!
Let's Go Flyers!!

You can love us. You can hate us. We just flat out don't care. We're awesome!
Edited to point out: I'm from the real New Jersey. Not that region to the north that supported Jersey Shore being a 'thing'!
