The 1st pick didn't go to Edmonton, Toronto or Minnesota (would have been Canucks' pick if they lost the play in). I'm happy.

Agreed, amazing. I'm not saying he interfered with the goalie and the goal should be waived off, but if you can't finish without ending on top of the goalie, it's not a move you should be pulling.

Again, not Wennberg's goal, but too often I see a forward going full speed into a goalie. There are no reprecussions. Someone is going to get hurt. We need to bring back a Bob Probert/Shane Churla-type enforcer and get that shit out of the game. Not a goon to stir things up, but an enforcer to keep things fair...

Sometimes it works out, like for Geoff Courtnall. I'll never forget that game!

Thing that bothers me is that refs have decided it's ok now to jam sticks into the goalies gloves and pads after the puck is covered.
You should literally get your head taken off for that. Blow the damn whistle.

Growing up playing hockey, this was unfortunately rampant in my travel leagues and sometimes after I already had the puck covered for a few seconds. Luckily, my teammates would just obliterate those people. If I was able to without risking the puck coming loose, I eventually resorted to just holding out my stick like a spear they could just run into if they kept coming to crash the net. Never got penalized for that and caused a lot of salty opponents. Less bruises on my wrists/hands though.

All that said, refs need to blow their damn whistles or give some leeway for the defensemen to take (measured) matters into their own hands.

Colorado starting to look pretty strong, everything clicking into place at the right time. Should be a great, fast-paced series against Vegas next!

Looks like Vegas will have to wait, as Colorado will face Dallas next since the NHL isn't doing their traditional bracket system this year. Was hoping for this match-up in the conference final, oh well... The million dollar question is who will crack a smile first, Benn or MacKinnon?! o_O

The NHL has never done traditional brackets. They always reseed based on regular season standings.

Not for the past few years. Maybe 5
Ahhh ok. I haven’t watched much hockey in the last 6 years or so. Working in the casijo meant no time to follow it, plus Vancouver never qualified for playoffs, lol.

But this year, on to round 2!

Bring on the golden knights, the team the Canucks have a horrible regular season record against.

Vegas better take care of business. The Devils have Vancouver’s 1st rounder this year, and I don’t need them going on some magical run and having the pick fall to #31. I believe it stays at #20 if Vegas wins this series.

Means nothing. The Rangers went 4-0 against the Hurricanes this season and owned them for the most part over the course of the past decade, and they got swept on the play in.

I'm just glad the pick is no better than #20, makes the JT Miller trade so good.

I wasn’t sure who to root for When Vancouver played Minnesota in the play-in round, because if you guys had lost, NJ would have gotten next year’s unprotected 1st round pick. But I think Vancouver is only going to have more success in the next couple years, as long as you bring Markstrom back, so I would happily take #20 and walk away.

My real beef is with Arizona for beating Nashville, which kept us from having a second pick in the top 10 this year.

LOL Dallas putting on a clinic, first 15 mins they have three goals and Colorado with zero shots. :jawdrop:

Oh boy, Dallas/Colorado going to game 7, don't even know which team to root for. But guaranteed no sleep for @mipevi  :ROFLMAO:

Nice to see him in the lineup tonight. I still can’t bring myself to root for the Flyers, but I will be happy for you and Oskar if they win.
Very cool to see him playing again!!
