I want to buy a smoker (4 Viewers)

Looks good!!! Break down the method...
I had whole wings so I had to remove the tips and separate the drums from the flats. Kamado grill at 400F, set up for indirect heat.

I rubbed the wings with a little neutral oil, then an onion garlic spice blend. Once the grill was hot, I put a chunk of apple wood on the diverters rather than directly on the coals. It's easy to oversmoke chicken, and this is a good way to get a lighter smoke.

25-30 minutes on one side, then flip and 25-30 minutes on the other side. You want the skin to get crispy and the internal temperature around 185-190F.

Toss in Buffalo sauce or jerk sauce (we made both) and serve with my wife's collards and green beans. :sneaky:

Well, its finally happening, I just gave my electric smoker to a buddy and I'm buying a RecTeq 700! I'm so excited...the wait has been killing me but they offer up some decent Black Friday deals on accessories and pellets so I've been holding off for a few weeks.

I've been researching pellet smokers for about a year now and I've been all over the place and have tried to find non-biased information but pretty much any following you read, they are going to tell you its the best. Thankfully YouTube had some great reviews of each (Traeger, GMG, RecTeq, Yoder and Pitts & Spitts).

@DoubleEagle The Yoder was high on the list but it just came down to budget and it didn't quite fit in there...this time!

I'll be sure to post pics once I get it and my first few cooks of course!

I'm sure you will love it!

Will be doing a run with these tomorrow.

Prior to this thread I had been interested in a ceramic but wasn’t sure I wanted to drop the money on a Primo, Komodo, or Egg so bought the cheap char-broiler version to see if it was something I’d like or get more annoyed with.

Love my thermapen and almost got that one. Wound up getting the Fireboard 2 instead, but they seem incredibly similar. Look forward to seeing your review!

Same here, I'm thinking about a temp control for my kamado, mainly to make long smokes easier since I usually don't have time to babysit it more than a couple hours.

I have used a BBQ guru temp control for years with excellent results on my big green egg. I highly recommend a temp control for a kamado.

I got the BBQ Guru for mine. Can't recommend it enough. It's pretty great for briskets, ribs, pork butts, etc.

I'm leaning hard this way, it sounds like one of the best options out there. I'll probably get the UltraQ for the WiFi. BT is nice but not when I'm on the other side of the house.

I’m still waiting - I now understand why you guys did this yesterday. Fortunately no one is hungry yet.
