I had whole wings so I had to remove the tips and separate the drums from the flats. Kamado grill at 400F, set up for indirect heat.Looks good!!! Break down the method...
I'm sure you will love it!Well, its finally happening, I just gave my electric smoker to a buddy and I'm buying a RecTeq 700! I'm so excited...the wait has been killing me but they offer up some decent Black Friday deals on accessories and pellets so I've been holding off for a few weeks.
I've been researching pellet smokers for about a year now and I've been all over the place and have tried to find non-biased information but pretty much any following you read, they are going to tell you its the best. Thankfully YouTube had some great reviews of each (Traeger, GMG, RecTeq, Yoder and Pitts & Spitts).
@DoubleEagle The Yoder was high on the list but it just came down to budget and it didn't quite fit in there...this time!
I'll be sure to post pics once I get it and my first few cooks of course!

Toss in Buffalo sauce or jerk sauce
Love my thermapen and almost got that one. Wound up getting the Fireboard 2 instead, but they seem incredibly similar. Look forward to seeing your review! Will be doing a run with these tomorrow. View attachment 579939Prior to this thread I had been interested in a ceramic but wasn’t sure I wanted to drop the money on a Primo, Komodo, or Egg so bought the cheap char-broiler version to see if it was something I’d like or get more annoyed with.
So then I'll just make more! The Jerk store called, and they said they were all out of you!!
Same here, I'm thinking about a temp control for my kamado, mainly to make long smokes easier since I usually don't have time to babysit it more than a couple hours.Love my thermapen and almost got that one. No way that doesn’t come out great. I bet you needed some serious shears to spatchcock a turkey.Looking good so far

I got the BBQ Guru for mine. Can't recommend it enough. It's pretty great for briskets, ribs, pork butts, etc.Same here, I'm thinking about a temp control for my kamado, mainly to make long smokes easier since I usually don't have time to babysit it more than a couple hours.
i'm also in the market for a smoker this is making me hungry
I broke my cheap ass Amazon poultry shears last night on mine. I'm spending the money to get a better replacement. No way that doesn’t come out great. I bet you needed some serious shears to spatchcock a turkey.
I'm leaning hard this way, it sounds like one of the best options out there. I'll probably get the UltraQ for the WiFi. BT is nice but not when I'm on the other side of the house.I got the BBQ Guru for mine. Can't recommend it enough. It's pretty great for briskets, ribs, pork butts, etc.
Progress report? Mine just came out: 20lb, smoked on apple.Looking good so far
