I was today years old when I found out percentages are reversible. So example 8% of 25 is the same as 25% of 8. Which makes it way easier to work out the first one. Call me simple but this has blown my mind

In multiplication order doesn't matter (commutative property). 5*3 is the same as 3*5. When you think about how % just stands for 1/100 it makes sense.

Another easier way to work out percentages is to multiply first and divide later. For your above example we can just say 8*25 = 200. Then we divide 200/100 and get 2. This makes trickier ones easier too. What's 5% of 17? Well 5*17 is 85, so it's 85/100 or 0.85

Not catholic, but my step-family is. I'm not sure if they mix things up just to keep us non-catholics on our toes, but I just learned they've changed the response from 'and also with you' (normal, makes sense) to 'and with your spirit' (baffling).
its a response to exclude Atheist, a slight if you will

but I think it proves the miss quoted or mashed up quote by Ghandhi and Bara Dada

I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

I was way older than I should’ve been when I realized a quarter was a quarter of a dollar

Me: peace be with you
Them: and with your spirit
Me: ya know, that’s not a half bad idea

Today I learned John Cazale, actor who played Fredo Corleone, died young but had an incredible run of film. He only acted in 5 films, but every single film was nominated for the Oscar's Best Picture: The Godfather (1972), The Conversation (1974), The Godfather II (1974), Dog Day Afternoon (1975), and The Deer Hunter (1978). Whatta fantastic, dense career!

Man, he plays it so perfectly. Him introducing Moe Green, him watching his father slump. Incredible, and he's understated and weak and frustrated and bitter! Fantastic performance. He's frantic and mad and literally underwater in that shot, while Michael is just cold.

Yeah, sad story that guy.
Definitely watch Dog Day Afternoon. It’s a great movie that most people have either forgotten about or never heard of.

He was quite ill with terminal bone cancer when making The Deer Hunter, De Niro had covered his health insurance to prevent him being dropped.
