I've bought a lot of chips over the years -- seriously, a lot of chips -- but I've ALWAYS bought chips that I liked (at least at the time when I purchased them; people's tastes can change). And everything else is totally secondary to that main driver.

Similar philosophy on selling. Most of the chips that leave (not many) are those that either I don't "really really" like anymore, or more likely, because I've found or purchased other chips since, that I like even better.

I'm basically just leasing them all anyway, since in the long run, when I'm done and gone, the money balance will pretty much be a wash. So why bother with anything that you don't really like or have a passion for? Get what makes you happiest, and gives you the most enjoyment. The rest of it is relatively unimportant.

Looking for a single $1000 chip. Adding it to someone's order seems silly, as shipping and re-shipping will double the price.

“Early sale” usually means limited stock, so every chip will be sold at this time. Some will be held back for a later sale. Usually with prices adjusted as well to help move slow moving items (down) or higher for very popular and low quantity items.

So I have never had nor have I considered getting mint chips before this sale but I am going to get caught by the bug and be involved somehow.

My question for you all that will be involved or have mint chips, do you plan on using them or will these be just a show piece? If I am involved, I will put them in play, but I am just curious as to how you all approach it.

I used to keep them at my entertainment center shelves but wife thinks I've gone crazy. Now, I keep them in a case under my bed and once wife is past asleep, I will take them out and stare at them until day breaks. >>> just kidding!

I always rotate my sets depending on the game and number of players/stakes involved. We only play cash games limit/no limit depending on players preferrence.

Both are equally nice imo; mostly depends on what you plan to use them with. Some patterns and colors work better together than others.

It probably won't affect the resale prices of the AS chips much because they are a different mold and a more coveted mold. It will, however, affect the resale prices of many of the mint Cleveland and Cincinnati horseshoe chips

Two huge Horsehshoe sales killed the values of other non mint RHC sets. These shouldn’t kill the boat chip value all that much, but they’ve already come down ~20% from peak

USPS.com will give you shipping rates to Europe.

As for your question about resale value, prices will surely plummet to next to nothing. Be prepared to hold on to whatever you buy for your lifetime.
