Not Mine KEM Horseshoe Cincinnati / Cleveland cards (1 Viewer)

Hoping you guys who get the Cinci setups will post lots of pics, I went directly through E-Brands to get 10 setups of the Cincis shipped to Canada. They've been a disaster to deal with, but I'm really hoping I don't have to return these when they do actually arrive.

EBrands is run by BryBelly, my return address on the packaging is addressed to BryBelly, a known casino equipment retailer, who sells mostly shit products. Not surprised these cards have defects

My Cincy setups arrived very loosely in a cardboard box, which then destroyed the black cases the cards were in during shipping. Plastic pieces scattered everywhere. Corners all nicked and dented on the decks themselves. The cards also feel gritty and distinctly different than the Cleveland setups. Sending them back to the seller today.

This is a card nightmare that just keeps getting worse. Those with canceled orders got llucky.

I think the only cancelled orders were for the Cleveland setups, which are actually Kems. AFAIK, all those that ordered to Cincy setups have not had their orders cancelled.

It looks like my Cincy order is expected to arrive today. I'll report and post pics later.

inspect each card carefully as the ink blotches arent on every card, but definitely noticeable when shuffling

Cleveland setup arrived packed well (bubble wrapped in a shipping envelope) and were, in fact, Kems, in a Kem box.

(y)

For those of you who bought the Cleveland cards, has anyone noticed any blems? Mine all seem to be fine.

Boom! Got mine today too. Only damage was on the Cincy plastic cases. They were loose in a bubble mailer, so they got "dinged" on one corner, but cards seem fine. Haven't opened them yet. Funny side note. I ordered 2 Cincy setups but thought I was ordering the red/blue, but got one of each (black and gold) which is actually kinda nice.
Here are pics:

Got my Cincy decks tonight! I only checked one out of four decks. No nicks on the corners, and cases arrived intact. No ink bleed or smudges.
I ordered black and gold decks and received blue and red decks. Also, I agree with the assessment that they smell like dirt.(n) I'm not sure what stock they used to print on. They don't feel like my WSOP Fournier or Kems.

Still trying to decide if I'm going to keep them or not.

So now that more people have seen them, am I right that A) The KEMS feel friggen awesome, and B) the backs are two awful colors to put together in a setup?

Yeah they're pretty close, but being bridge/jumbo, they are my new favorite Kem by a landslide.
Can't wait to get them in play next month!

As long as I get my shipment before Saturday, you won't have to wait til next month to see them in action. You will have to make the Final Table, though!;)

Got my Cincinnati decks today as well. I ordered one red/blue and one black/gold. Only opened the gold/black. No noticeable blemishes, but that dirt smell is very noticeable. Really odd. I'm hoping they'll air out.

Quote from the seller of the Cincy cards:

"These are Kem cards. These were purchase yes through United States Playing Card Company. That company manufactures Kem cards has for quite sometime now, for at least 10 yrs. If you are unhappy with the items you can send them back for a full refund as long as they meet the return criteria.

Thank you "

I guess the giant Aristocrat logo and Aristocrat poker guide fooled me.

Based on how awful and damaged others' sets were I'm scared to even exchange mine for another setup to try and get one in good condition. I guess I just have to swallow this one to have cards to match my chip set.

I don't see myself buying from Brybelly again.

USPCC has been known to mix and match at times...2011 WSOP cards were Bicycle cards made by Kem, and 2012 WSOP cards were Bicycle cards made by Fournier. The info on USPCC's site for Aristocrat Casino cards only provides information on plastic coated paper cards...they don't mention 100% plastic at all. At least not that I can find.

Might be Aristocrat branding on Kem stock. Only USPCC could say for sure.

I am not an expert at all, but I'd be more likely to guess Fournier than KEM based on the feel compared to other setups I have from the same brands.

Also this was mentioned by someone who knows far more about cards than I ever will:

My guess is Fournier, because the back design looks similar to these^^^^^^^^

It's also possible that I'm making too big of a deal about this. There's still no mention of Aristocrat in the listing, and no mention of KEM anywhere in or around the cards. It would just be nice for the seller to admit some sort of fault here. I'll drop it now, I have my cards and I'm keeping them.

I pulled out my Fourniers, WSOP Fourniers branded as Bicycle, and both pre and post USPC Kems. I couldn't find one brand that was a definitive match. They feel flimsy compared to Fourniers and Kems. Also not sure if the dirt smell is a byproduct of the manufacturing process, or how they were stored. (But they were still wrapped in plastic so I don't understand how they could've absorbed so much from the surrounding environment). The dirt smell eliminates anyway to determine brand by smell, cause Kems have a distinct odor to them. USPC does have other plastic stock that are less common. 8-9 years ago, I purchased some all-plastic cards that were branded Hoyle. The cards were very slick and plastic feeling (think Royal or Gemaco five star).

@nitzilla , you've owned many different setups any guesses as to what these could be?

I'll check tonight, I've just been trying to contain my 55 setups in the 1 storage drawer.....it's getting difficult! ;) I basically "shoved them" in and shut it. Haha
I will do some dirt, I mean, CARD comparisons tonight....!

That's fair. My intent wasn't to absolve the seller of responsibilty, but just to point out that this type of thing can occur. But ultimately the seller has to properly represent the product being sold.

Cincy cards came today. To my horror both set ups were packaged in an envelope with the edge taped over. The outer surface of the envelope was starting to wear away and could see the corner of the black card box peeking out. Yet somehow only very little black plastic was chipping away from the card boxes and the cards appear unharmed. I never write Amazon reviews

but this BS is going to get a message from me.
