Ketogenic Way of eating... (3 Viewers)

@liftapint didn't you buy a dash waffle maker or was that someone else?

Chaffles are game changing even tho the name is stupid as hell. Pizza chaffles, mcgriddle breakfast sandwiches, buns for burgers or sandwiches, dessert waffles, or just waffles and syrup.

I did buy one, and JUST now got back from the grocery store getting supplies for pizza!

So...make the chaffle, top with a little tomato sauce (I'll probably just put a raw tomato in a blender, add a little Italian seasoning), pepperoni, mozz cheese, and pop it in the oven? Can't wait to try it.

I had a dry boring chaffle for breakfast the other day. I was not impressed. But as a pizza base, or hamburger bun, I can see they could be game-changing.

This looks like 3 days worth of calories. LOL.
Delicious though, I bet.

I eat twice a day and aim for 2200 calories so my meals can be about 1000 calories each plus a snack of nuts or something.

As for the pizza chaffle I mixed mozzarella and the egg with a scoop of tomato sauce in it, cut up some pepperonis in it also. Make the waffle and it's a pizza waffle which you can dip in ranch or marinara. You can also season the mix with some Italian stuff and melt more cheese on top if you want.

@BGinGA did you try the chocolate yet? Whole pint, 4 carbs.

I'm ordering 2 cases of that stuff as soon as I get home. Can't find it in any grocery store around here, so I guess I gotta go big.

Just had my serving of Vanilla for the day. Might have to put a scoop on a chaffle once my waffle maker arrives!

I'm traveling for work currently and decided to cheat a bit and had my first "real" beer in 6 months. It's pretty freaking amazing I hate to say.

You've gone 6 months without a real beer?? You deserve a real beer! I've gone 4 weeks, and I am pretty sure I am dying (inside).

Not too shabby for the first try

Gives a pretty good crunch. Just used eggs and cheddar jack cheese, would definitely need to tinker for straight out waffles, needs a little sweetener or something for that.

I made some sweet ones tonight that were pretty damn good.

Recipe:
1 egg
1/4th cup mozzarella
2 tbsp almond flour
Half tsp baking powder
Hand full of macadamia nuts smashed into tiny pieces
Poured some sugar free maple syrup in (Walden farm)

It was basically maple macadamia cookie recipe I made last weekend but in waffle form. Super nice for dessert. You could add some sweetener also, my favorite is swerve.

It seems you can start with an egg, some cheese and add whatever you want yet it still turns out decent. Love the flexibility.

I did keto for a month and a half. No cheat days. I also have been doing intermittent fasting. I logged everything I ate and even did some regression analysis with the data. My regression model estimates that I burn about 2600 calories per day when not working out, and that I lose 1lb of body fat for every 3350 deficit calories, which is within a 5% margin of error of the definition of a calorie, which is supposed to be 3500 calories per lb, so I feel good about the data I'm collecting. I averaged about 1650 calories per day, and lost about 15 lbs. I measured my ketone levels with a blood test kit and was always in ketosis. I can't claim to have felt more alert throughout the day though, and many of the other benefits I was expecting didn't really manifest themselves. Overall, I like the diet and the results have been pretty good, but I can't claim to have had any more success than I otherwise would have on any other caloric restricted diet.

I decided that I'm switching over to a Paleo diet now, which will be pretty similar for me, but I'll be able to add fruits to my diet now. I'm still focusing on eating whole, healthy foods though. Still no simple sugars, rice, bread, or pasta. I'm interested to see if there's a discernable difference in the data between the two diets for me. I'll keep you posted.

I think chocolate has moved up to second favorite for me.
Agreed. I haven't found the Black Raspberry anywhere, though - it looks to be limited supply.

They do have several new flavors coming soon: Salted Caramel, Cookies & Cream, Triple Chocolate, Coconut Almond Swirl, and Cherry Chip. ETA is 1-2 weeks.

I plan on making customs -- mixing chocolate and butter pecan for starters.

Oh man. I didn't know that. Salted Carmel, cookies and cream and cherry chip wound right up my wheel house. I still haven't found strawberry anywhere!

Just picked up the Rebel Cookie Dough. Phenomenal. Tastes just like the real thing. Almost too much so, makes me wonder if there’s a catch to this stuff lol

I saw this thread awhile ago, but I’m following it with greater interest now. Up until the time I was about 52 yr I could eat and drink anything I wanted and as much as I wanted and not gain any real weight. 5 years later, that’s all changed.

I’m 6’1” and weighed in @ 218 lb (mostly all gutt). When it becomes a hassle to put on shoes and socks, you know you have a problem. This and all the jokes from the kids.

I started a low cal diet 2 weeks ago and am staying away from sugars and carbs. No pasta, bread, potatoes, or booze. This sucks!!! I’m also trying to mix in about a 25-30 min walk at least 4 times per week. So far I’ve lost 6 pounds. Definitely feel like the stomach has reduced a bit. I don’t eat red meat so I’m not sure if Keto would work for me. Definitely drawing on inspiration from this thread. - Thanks

This is a pretty solid chaffle recipe right here. You can do just eggs and cheese, but this improves the taste and texture.

FTR, always, ALWAYS use cheddar cheese. I added fresh basil, fresh dill and some flax seeds.
