So someone had to have purchased what was left just before it hit the hour mark because the second it turned it was already sold out when at least 1 barrel was still available the minute before.

I honestly think the clocks are off. I know the links were up to order about a minute before 1pm my time so they're probably a minute fast or something. 1 minute is a long time in one of these sales.

I’m actually amazed. I 100% thought the same thing would happen. I had them in the basket, thumb over the button, payment chosen. Soon as it hit 8 I clicked, it probably didn’t even go through until 8:00.5.
