Round 1 Revival Game - Blind Baseball

I am sure there are many variants of the game, and the way I play it may be wrong, but this is how it is going to work here.

- Each player is dealt 9 cards
- The game starts with the first player to the left of the dealer, they flip there first card. The second player flips until they can beat the hand.
- 3 and 9's are wild (edited, originally posted wrong)
- if a 4 is flipped the player gets another card from the deck
- best 5 card poker hand wins, rankings go 5 of a kind, straight flush, 4 of a kind and so on

Participants:

All set

You said it's called blind baseball. I know nothing of the game, but wouldn't flipping your cards be an "at bat" rather than an orbit?

Well, you dont get to see your cards until their flipped. I could have it totally wrong, but I always like it for a quick flip when cleaning up loose change at the end of the night.

So I got all the footage for this event.

Based on that here is my schedule for posting results:
Today - Revival of someone from Round 1 to the final table - to be completed
Round 4 - Friday June 12th
Final Table Day 1 - Saturday June 13th
Final Table Day 2 - Sunday June 14th
Final Table Heads-up - Starts Monday June 15th (a hand a day)

Thanks again for all of this! I can't believe how much time and effort you have put into this. Bravo!

With a J high straight flush!

Trying to learn this game. Why did @tyrion1705 flip another card after he had a set of 10s? Wasn't that enough to beat the pair of Aces?
He didnt have a set of 10s until the next 3 came, and then at that point in time he had the 10 high straight flush (6 through 10).

That was enough to win the game, I just finished his hand off which revealed the 8H giving him the J high straight flush.

So if I'm reading it right, I'm ahead right now with trips... But half the deck will give that away. Tons of straight possibilities, diamond or spade flushes, etc...
Correct. Running through all these hands has really highlighted how high the variance is in Big0. Granted in a real game a lot of players *should* be out before the river, but that often isn't the case. I both love and hate Big0. I guess it comes down to if I hit or not.

Which is why you seldom play trips in Omaha. With a 3&4 to make the low (about as good of a chance of winning with a Q - high in holdem), this would be equivalent to a 6-outer for a win, of 1/2 the pot.

Goddam, forgot that this was hi/lo split already! But I believe Chris has the low locked up unless the 2h or 2d hits.

I feel like I'm doing bridge puzzles in the newspaper. And yes, I know that dates me.

OK. In the rules post you said both 3s and 6s were wild.

Ok, so I'm still in it! But in a distant third in chips right now. One time!
