Only if sold to someone via eBay. If they ended it, it may have been sold privately (against eBay rules). But auctions ended by the seller state it as such.
Is there an identifiable difference between an ended listing on whether it was sold (not via auction) or just taken down though?

I think in order to take it down you have to select a reason. There isn't one that is just like "changed my mind," so you either have to choose like "wrong price," "wrong description," or "no longer for sale."

I'm saying from the view of someone who is not the seller. If I was watching a listing that was not an auction and it "ended" is there a way to identify whether the listing was ended by the seller (say prior to the listing time running out) or whether it was actually purchased (again not an auction).

Ok let me take you on a fantastic ride.
Follow my instructions!

1. Zoom in the middle guy's face!
He's like "yeah I look fabulous and you know it!"

2. Next zoom in the left guy's face.
He wasn't sure he wanted to be in this.
He's questioning his decision big time!

3. Zoom in on the right guy's face.
Yup. Read his lips too. He's definitely saying "I've been waiting years for this!"

In conclusion:
I'm in pretty much the same physical shape as these guys. (I know, I like to brag)
How are they going so FAST? This must be sped up. I'm out of breath just looking at them go. I may have said too much. Imma go now.

Stay safe out there! Wear a Yarness across your chest! I wanna know what this is but no way I'm going to that site....

A completed auction will always show a winner.

within 48 hours this forum will be some sort of tinder like dating app.

I don't know how else to say "not an auction" :confused
If the seller ends the auction prematurely, it won't show an auction winner. If it completes, it will show a winner. Dunno how else to say it. Are we both speaking English?

He means buy it now, not bid, usually Tom the listing will say ended, unsold but I've never inquired for further info
