I’m curious about the “chip dust”.. I’ve seen everyone talking about how it’s all over the primary $25.. and this is somehow related to the yellow film that was on the HSI snappers? I got a sample set…. Didn’t use it under a UV light, but I can’t tell anything is wrong.. I’ve also been playing with 2000 HSI secondary chips since they’ve been released and have noticed anything at all.. WHY DOES IT MATTER IF THERE’s DUST THAT ONLY SHOWS UP WITH A UV LIGHT?

With the HSI chips, it wasn't only under a UV light. You could take a white microfiber cloth and just rub one of the chips and the cloth turns yellow.

I think the UV light highlights whatever is coming off of these chips. Maybe it's different for these or maybe it's the same. That's why I was asking.

I just racked about 15k of the primary $25. I didn't notice any film.

There’s also a chance that all this “chip dust” or whatever talk is circulated by people who want to keep those primary $25s all to themselves? I dunno, I saw that black light picture and it didn’t seem like I was looking at anything bad?

I heard all the bearclaw $5s have cooties too. Definitely wouldn't want to risk handling any of those!

HJ washes off quite easily compared to that yellow crap on the HSIs... that was terrible!

We typically spend maybe 4 hours to hand wash a dirty rack of RHCs. Brie spent like 2 weeks cleaning 2 racks of HSI snappers, it was almost as bad as removing lead paint from my crib with my teeth when I was young... I managed but damn that s**t was tough!

I can't find the total number of chips per denom for the hsi sale, anybody still have these?
Usually @TheChipRoom releases the total quantities after everything is sold out.
Since we know the amount of barrels of each sale and we know there are (at least) 15k primary $25s, maybe we can zone in on numbers if we subtract tournament chips.
All this asuming casinos don't just wing their breakdowns which I highly doubt. There should be some consistency there.

5s look to generally be double 25s, so at least 15k primary 25s likely means at least 30k primary 5s.

Yeah they basically halve the number as the denoms go up. So I’d say they’ve prolly got close to 50-60k of the primary $5’s. And then just divide by 2 until you get the the $25k’s which are prolly 200-300. I’d say the numbers will prolly within +/-10% of the HSI numbers.

Yes that dust was all over the HSI chips.. and likely all over the secondary IG chips too.. they’re uncirculated so that’s not unusual in my opinion.. have you ever bought a set from CPC?? I almost sent one back the new chips came so dusty, didn’t think I’d ever get it off.

Yes, CPC's arrive dusty and dirty. Using a microfiber cloth, I remove the dust before edge oiling. My cloth doesn't turn yellow.

With the HSIs, my cloth turned yellow. There was not only the UV dust, but a film on some of them (like the secondary $25s).

New chip dust is one thing; but what we're talking about is on another level...
