Lighted Dealer Button? (2 Viewers)

Curious tho-
If you can't see the dealer button, How do you see the cards?
If people just used a plain white dealer button as Jesus intended, there would be no problems.

I like the LED Coaster idea but says powers off in bright environment or 15 secs without vibration. Anyone tested one at a game yet? I have half the table shuffling their chips but not sure if that would make it stay on.

Now this thread has me considering a lighted button.

Son of a…

Here’s the real kicker; it’s a dedicated deal game. Sort of my job to know where it is and that’s it been moved. My crew is pretty good about it. I really don’t have anything else to do as host, dealer, cook, and cleaner…

We’ll see.

I like the puck light idea.

Yeah... I ordered one off Amazon to test in my game tomorrow (should get it today). I can cover the light sensor, but yeah, we'll see if it stays on or not...

When my buddy got married a few months back they had a few hundred of these tiny battery lights all over the place.
Limited-time deal: Aogist 100pcs Mutilcolor Balloon Lights, Long Standby Time Waterproof Mini Ball Light, Round LED Flash Lamp for Paper Lantern Balloon Party,Wedding,Birthday,Festival,New Year and Christmas Decorative https://a.co/d/eC63JyH

I could try and figure out a way to insert those into a DB.

Still think glow in the dark paint like they use on fishing lures would work to charge it with a UV light and it's good for a few hours.

As long as it’s not too bright and can change colors, I’m down to buy :)

Ok, just received two different drink coasters from Amazon today. Will test them in tomorrow’s home game, but here are some early thoughts if anyone is interested…

First, a few pics:

Notes so far:
  • Both are rechargeable (huge +).
  • Both slide just fine on my SSC.
  • The large clear acrylic disc is 4” and has 4 colors: Red, Blue, Green, and all 3 colors (flash modes exist, but obviously ignoring those).
  • The large disc does NOT appear to turn off automatically (another huge +!!!)
  • Will put a label on the large disc (just the glowing part) to cover the glow on top - as the real objective is to just have the DB with a glowing side.
  • The smaller disc is 2 5/8”. Has 7 different colors (and has slower flash modes available).
  • Smaller disc turns off after about 15 seconds with no vibration. But… I’m planning to use it as my Kill Pot button tomorrow. I’m going to guess that when it’s in play and near the center of the table, there will be enough vibration to keep it constantly lit (and maybe the flash mode will work with the Kill ) - stay tuned…

Just got lazy and taped my normal Kill Button on top of the small disc (for now)…. Guessing it’ll do the job just fine…

That’s it for now…. Again, will put them to the test tomorrow…

Thanx!

Ok, this might be a weird question , but does anyone use a lighted Dealer Button (battery operated, I guess) and/or know of where to get one?

I ask as my poker “room” isn’t that bright and my poker table cloth is dark in color. Yeah, I could just go with a light color DB (white, yellow, etc.), but where’s the fun in that?

I think a lighted DB would be cool (or am I wrong here?). Plus it would/should be noticeable for even the laziest of players that consistently don’t pay attention - especially when it’s their turn (“Hey, it’s your turn (again)”. “Oh, really?…………..Who’s on the button?”:mad:).

Thoughts/input?
Never heard of one… but would be fun!

@Gavin tried the lighted Dealer Button tonight. One person liked it but the rest gave it the finger. Not only did it not make an orbit it didn't make one hand

You never know players reactions.
Some would like a ‚Siri’ button who moves on it‘s own, some want to ban it from the table…

Find someone with a vinyl cutter or that does wraps to put something cool on the light that says dealer also toneing down the brightness at same time.

I came across an actual lighted hockey puck. Seems like a great idea! A little expensive, relatively speaking (~$30), but I really like the design, and it's rechargeable too!:

But unfortunately, as I kind of expected, they confirmed the light only stays on for one full minute. Needs to be "touched" or "bumped" (it's a usable hockey puck after all) to restart the lighting... this would work, but having to bump it all the time is not ideal in my opinion...
Doubles as an action shot clock.... perfect.
