Lightning Strikes (13 Viewers)

Hopefully my Hawks win tomorrow night. Last year was a real bummer. And does anybody really want to stay up until 2am est to watch the inevitable overtime?

Congrats on your team going the distance!

Very happy for you & your team. Wish I was there to see a finals game with you!

congrats, Mark. hurts to say, but we had chances tonight that we just refused to capitalize on. pretty difficult to win against a team with guys faster than carl hagelin and it's impossible when you make it a rule to grab exactly zero rebounds.

not sure who i'm rooting for in the game tomorrow night, but i think tampa/anaheim would be the most competitive series.

I really don't care much about hockey, but I've been pulling for TB since this thread started. Now just four more games.

PS One of the regulars at my weekly poker game put $400 on the Ducks to win the cup before the season stared. I don't think he's pulling for TB.

I'm not really sure which team I would rather face. At first I wanted Chicago since that would give the Lightning home ice advantage, however, that has not been a true advantage in these playoffs  At least I would get to be at game 7 if it goes the distance. It would also be less travel for my team and earlier start times for the games, but my arena would be infested with Blackhawk fans. If we play Anaheim, there will be very few Duck fans in attendance. I do think we match up well against either team.

Come on down - it is a great atmosphere.

I may be contacting you if we win the cup - I am developing an idea for a custom label. ;)

Amazing game last night - I missed the first 2 periods for my son's high school graduation - cum laude headed to Amherst College :D I got home just in time to see Killer's goal sneak thru Lundqvist's five hole. :D The Lightning continued to play smothering defense and kept the Ranger's scoring chances to a minimum. Then the triplet line stuck the dagger in and twisted  Bishop to Palat to Johnson and back to Palat for the goal !! :D On to the Stanley Cup Finals !!

Game 7 recap

Chaos, jbutler, & bergs - do you want to jump on the Lightning bandwagon or let it ride ??

already thinking about this - let me see how tonight's game goes if that's cool with you.

That's cool - I figured you would want to wait. Who are you rooting for tonight ??

I am rooting for another triple OT [emoji15] I don't really care who wins.

honestly, it's pretty close, but i think anaheim has a better shot against tampa than chicago. at the outset of the semi-finals i thought the gap between chicago and anaheim was bigger than i do now. not sure if anaheim has been a bit slower or chicago has gotten the fire, but they seem to be closer over the last few games.

I'm done Mark... I wanna be able to cheer for the Bolts full heartedly! :-)

Sending u a PM in a little bit...

Congrats and GO BOLTS!!

I heard that last night while Stamkos was sleeping Toews and Keith snuck into his room and made him touch the Prince of Wales Trophy. They also left his other hand in a warm cup of water:p

Early line Blackhawks -140, Lightning +120 - underdogs again

Did Anaheim show up last night? JEEBUS. $1500 in the crapper. They looked horrible. Did not see both NYR and ANA missing the cup series. Wow. GL, GG. NGG.

never more appropriate than with regard to both of these game 7s.

Have to admit I've warmed up to the Lightning; they're a fun team to watch. Prolly gonna pull for Chicago tho since I'm a little Western Conference biased but honestly would be happy either way. Just glad it's not Anaheim (despite being a west team).

BTW anyone notice that despite the Conference finals ending 4 days later, the Cup finals will start before the NBA finals? Wonder why hockey players don't need over a weeks worth of rest before starting another series? Just another reason why NHL > NBA
