Nanuk 910 = 400 chip perfection (4 Viewers)

Here’s my Apache 4800 with two card decks, 800 chips.

My Nanuk 920 only fits one deck

And the answer is YES! Thanks Amazon one day delivery! I removed all the foam and placed a very thin foam cutout on both the top and bottom of the case. I was able to successfully store 800 chips with standard racks (4 across x 2 high) and still have room for two boxed decks of cards, a dealer button, blind buttons and a card protector.

No problem closing lid (just a little pressure) & nothing moves. Good to go.

You inspired me @BirdCage I finally have my set complete. Been here for less than 2 months and now I have 800 Dunes, a custom cloth coming from Chanman and a table to build.

Not easy being in the UK though, the Nanuk cases are hard to find for a reasonable price so I picked up one of these https://www.trifibre.co.uk/product/max430/ (in the brightest colour they had of course!)

Pretty happy with the results, trying desperately to resist buying some Muertos semi customs now (yes I saw your breakdown with the $1 yellows...)

So, I’ve found that for secure storage these types of cases (Pelican in my case) are excellent. As a mode of transport, though, I find the weight and distribution annoying and unwieldy for anything beyond moving from house/apt to car and back. City dwellers without cars or who are walking or metro-ing may have a similar situation. I am trying a modest sized pelican with wheels for such occasions.

I love all the photos. Copied lots of good ideas from here.

I have 2 pelican cases, that I have pretty much abandoned, because I can't lift them when full. But I don't find the Nanuk with 600 chips, to be too bad. It's my go-to case now. Have 8 6, will order more when they go on sale. :)

@JP1984 Truly impressive work, your case setup looks so neatly tailored & I love the orange case. Welcome to the forum and good luck with the Dunes CCs. I was up for the third poker night in a row using my set, so lucky they might be.

I never pulled the trigger on the Muertos, but still really like them, instead I was sucked into the Paulson vortex and wound up here --> https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/mixed-house-mold-set-my-first-paulson-chip-set.53824/

Love them! Congratulations...will you be holding onto the dunes or were they a fling or your way to your true love?

Thanks, keeping both as the 800-chip Dunes CCs can support two tables plus not much worry about dirt, damage and loss. The 400-chip Paulson set will be for use in a more controlled environment, so to speak. Both sets are in Nanuk 910's.

The Apache 4800 is 9.7 pounds empty

The Nanuk 910 is 3 pounds empty
The Nanuk 920 is 5.1 pounds empty

I can weigh my Apache 4800 a bit later. It current holds 1000 PNY chips with two decks of cards.

Hernia (?) here too, but I 'd be interested in one Peli case, if good for 8 racks (800 chips) with properly adjusted foam. For storage, of course.
For mobility, the tiny Nanuk 910 has been perfect (and despite the "moar" chips mantra, 400 of them are plenty for up to 7 players, I 'm ashamed to admit)

What would you guys recommend for 500 Royal CC's in 43mm Bud Jones racks, a box of two Kem decks and a dealer button?

W - 3"
L - 9 1/4"
H - 2 1/4"

I reeeaaally like that lime green Nanuk, but I don't know if I should go with the 910 or 920.

I’ll be posting more when I finish this set in the Royals pr0n thread, but trust me don’t go with the 910 Nanuk for Royals 43mm in BJ racks. I already had to return it to get this one which is a Nanuk 915. The racks actually don’t fit vertically in either case. I have 400 in this case and they stack two high horizontally with a perfect amount of space for desjgn cards and dealer buttons. PM me for more specifics if you’d like

Thanks! So, @dutch_whaley do you think the 920 then would be able to fit all 500 of my chips with ease? I really don't want to leave a rack out, as that doesn't make sense to me, but could give it thought.

The price really gets to me for these Nanuk cases too.

Thanks again.

Go back one page and you’ll see pictures of my 920. It holds 700 chips

At that load it weighs 22.8 pounds

@CRAW its hard to see in this picture, but these rounded circles in the case are what is preventing the racks from fitting vertically. I would just be certain to check interior dimensions for each case to be certain there is enough room. The 915 is ridiculously close to fitting them vertically, but off by millimeters. If the 920 is only slightly bigger inside, you should be good.

Just found this, looking for storage for 400 of the new Apache bank chips. So, any stores in the EU that sells the 910? Also, any good racks/holders for the chips to use in the case (also in EU)?
