Warning the vector still needs to be made so it might not be exactly as the older chips.

Still a work in progress.

Anyone have a pic of the web mold with an inlay? Wondering on where the inner concentric circle would fall relatively to where the inlay starts.

Both web and x molds would look nice

I wonder if the inlay would be 7/8 or 1”… my guess is it would be 1 inch unlike what we normally see.

I don't see any reason why we wouldn't get to choose what is most popular/best looking as nothing has been made yet. Could be 7/8 or 1 or something in between like 15/16". I personally like to see that inner concentric circle as I think it gives the whole chip a lot more balance. I am sure that the entire "web" could be adjusted as necessary too

Probably the biggest limitation would be what they're set up to print the labels at. There is also something to be said for the label size being standardized between molds, from a manufacturing efficiency standpoint at least.

sorry, I'm not buying any of this....
They are making these things in batches. They have already done labels in at least 3 different sizes & probably a 4th or maybe even more: For the new greek mold, the scrown, & the crappy RHC which isn't "R" & the hybrid cards (which I have not personally measured, but I am guessing based on the regular cards mold is different). There is some kid in china making like $2/day working on these things. You really think spending 30 seconds punching in a code into a printer to change the size of the labels once/20,000 chips is going to help reduce the cost of the chips?

The only real limitation is whatever we put on it.

Well, the truth is Tina outsources the labels to India because labor is cheaper there.
The kid in India actually pushes the button on his tablet, but the printers are actually located in Indonesia, because it’s cheaper to print there.

I made a mock-up of the web mold using pictures of the Sandia and Riverboat chip sets. It could have been the pictures I found, but the web mold seemed a little smaller on the Sandia. I then made the inlay sizes based on chip pics as well, all sizes are estimates/rounded.

The 22.5mm was the Speakeasy inlay size, the 23mm was the Riverboat size, the 24mm is Justin's hybrid Greek mold recess size, and the 25.8mm is what Sean proposed above.

Based on this, I think 25.8mm might be too close to the inner ring, though some people may prefer that. We don't have to go with the exact proportions of the original mold, it could go out more, if we like the 25.8mm inlay.

I'd probably go 25.4mm on the inlay instead, so that it's also 1" (makes making/buying labels easier). Here's what a 1" recess would look like, if we increase the size of the web mold, making the outer ring 36mm:

I like it. I like the ring outside the sticker before we get to the mold.
Great work

I think personally I may prefer the original mold-to-chip proportion with 23mm recess (or 23.81mm, which would be 15/16"), but I don't mind the 1" recess with a larger mold size.

Since this is a public/community mold, I'll go with the wisdom of the crowd.

25.4mm (1 inch) gives designers more room to create awesome labels.

That said, I do kind of like having a chip option that is 7/8 of an inch, since the others seem to all be 1 inch.

I like it too. I think it looks best when the amount of space outside the outer ring is = to the amount to the space in between the inner ring and where the sticker/label/inlay starts. This space wouldn't have to be exactly the same as in the pic above, but could be approximate too. It's just when the label comes out all the way to the inner ring it doesn't look nearly as good (of course in my opinion)
