I want to try this for one of my regulars for his first game back in over a year. He absolutely loves going in blind when his stack gets low. What's your structure for it? I know @wonderpuddle has done this with success too.
Tonight. 100/200 starting blinds. 2500 starting stack. 20 minutes. All in or fold. You keep what ya have at the end of 20 min, chips and extra bounties of 2 dollar scratchers. Then we complete stacks of 17500 and start the actual game.

I did this as a warmup to a cash game a few weeks back and it was fun

So with a starting stack of 17500 for the main tournament, if I do really well in the warm up game and run it up to 10000 chips, I start with a stack of 27500 for the main game?

Yup. Gives you a bump, but not a game changer. Just enough to be fun.

I really love these chips. Hard to capture the brightness of the $5s.

A lil off topic, but this little card game has brought a TON of laughs and fun to my regular home game. I'd recommend it to add some entertainment. But be careful, I've won/lost more playing this stupid game than on the felt some nights. Biggest win has been close to $200. Biggest loss was closer to $300.

After about a decade of playing .25 cent/.50 cent blinds cash game at my buddies house on Friday nights we finally upped the blinds to $1-$3. Kind of a big jump, yes, but all of us that play there have experience playing that high of blinds or more so it has been a smooth transition so far. Bought in with $300 cashed out $616. We went from having a little over $1,000 on a the table to 3k+ easy. First time playing with $100 chips at the table as well. Has definitely changed the way hands are played in a good way that’s for sure. A lot less trash hands being played I mean.
Just curious - why go to 1/3 and not 1/2?

Since restaurants are still not open in my part of germany, my wife and I stayed in and ordered takeout for our second wedding anniversary.

She knows how I'm suffering under the covid restrictions and how much I want to get back to playing live poker again. She participated in my monthly games pre covid and enjoyed the social aspects but never got into the whole poker and chipping hype.
But, being the great wife that she is, she offered to play a little heads up with my "new fancy chips".
I even got to bust out my new game cards and introduce her to fun things like SOHE, showmaha and scrotum.
We played 3/6 mixed limit games with the flamingo set and she obliterated me in pretty much every hand. :D

Her favorite game was showmaha and it was great fun.
In for $180 out for $65. Good thing we only played "um die Ehre" as we call it in germany and not actual dollars. ;)

Didn't read the post, but had to congratulate your wife on the nice racks.

Small blind is on the button heads up

It was rematch time! We played some more 3/6 mixed limit games and put some new games into our rotation.

As you can see, I made up for my loss of honor from a few days ago and managed to cash out a nice profit of $120. She paid in full by cooking me a nice dinner and putting our son to bed. ;)

Out of the new games we tried, we especially enjoyed playing dramaha (as shown in the picture). It's the first draw-variant we tried out and it's really cool when mixed with community card games.

Drawmaha is my favorite circus game.
