Managed to get a game going two months in a row! It feels great getting the old crew together often. We traditionally play mostly "college games" (guts, baseball, draws with wilds, etc) and NLHE but I've been slowly introducing games from @abby99 Mixed Games. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive.

For this month, we played more pineapple, double board hold'em, PLO, and SHESHE. By the end of the night I could tell people were curious what other games there were so I just sent the entire list. Can't wait to get the next game going!

Oh, I have a quick question - we play with an hourly high hand bonus and are having trouble remembering the details. We have a high hand button we give to the player with the high hand but we quickly forget what the actual hand was. Any fun suggestions on how to keep track of this? Just boring pen and paper, perhaps?

Some SHESHE action below. This gave everyone a reason to pick card cappers from the collection.

I've seen high hand plaques or buttons that allow dry erase markings. So you write it on the plaque, give it to the high hand leader, and you don't need to remember.

Yep! I'm looking into a white board now. The one @TX_Golf_N_Poker linked looked good. My daughter has a scribble tablet that may work as well.

They are awesome!!

Bottom left is also a High Hand Button but does not allow for Dry Erase for the current high hand. @Quicksilver-75 the genius also made Cheech n Chong "High Hand" buttons. I own them... but again no pics.

Also have thr Havana Card Room monster high hand plaque made by @WhiteMamba1646 but don't have a pic on me

Variation of @TheRealTeddyKGB's game. We buy show me chips for a buck a piece from our chip stack and that all contributes to the high hand bonus of the night. Most players buy at least two and some buy more when rebuying. It's added another layer of fun for our group. We also play .25/.50.

I like the idea of resetting hourly though! Might incorporate that.

Brpro only make ceramic products and would not work for the Dry Erase concept. The plaques (both STD and Havana CR) are made by MSK which has a plastic surface and allows to use the dry erase markers.

We do a $5 scratchoff lottery ticket per player to participate in the high hand. Winning player gets all the tickets at the end of the night.

I also like the idea of having a cutoff time. It might not be the very end of the night, but late enough to keep anyone from jetting too early. I start my game at 7, so 11 PM sounds about right to me, even though we may keep playing until 12 or 1AM. I would just stop raking pots after the payout.

My 2 cents.

A rake can be hard to manage and whomever is in charge has to make sure they don't mix the rake with their chips.

Using 1 or 2 hole cards is down to if you want to be more gambol or more like a casino. When we did our huge bonus (chance to win the equivalent of a mortgage payment) we did require 2 hole cards.

In our cash games we pay out to the nearest $5 increment, rounded down. Those round-offs fund the bonus. As long as you don't have many players that try to edge the system or "flip" their odd chips, it works pretty well, and I don't need to keep a stack of singles on hand.
