Hosting a fun micro stakes game for some novices from work. $20 buy in 0.10/0.25 NLHE and PLO. Hoping that a couple catch the bug and ultimately join my regular game!

First time playing Pot Limit this past Saturday night (I was a guest, not the host which was nice for a change).

$0.25/$0.50 PL with lots of straddles. Buy in for $200, cash out for $228.

9 PCFers in attendance (out of 10 players)! A bit crazier than I’m used to but held my own.

Lots of fun. Introduced to new circus games including SHESHE, Double-Board Omaha, 5-Card Omaha, 6-Card Omaha, SOHE, Tahoe, and Dramaha.

SOHE might be my new favorite with Double-Board Omaha being a close 2nd.

Sounds like a crazy bunch of games to me and I most definitely would have lost all my money there.

Hellz yeah man! I still sleep with my skunk (that doesn't sound right but hey don't judge).

But SOHE seems to be on the tamer side of most of these damn circus games.

That 9999 > 3333 hand is so crazy in NLHE.

Who was the opponent? And how big was the pot? I assume you felted him? Actually, curious as to the betting on all streets. You were ahead the whole way, but he had to feel good on the flop with bottom set, still pretty good on the turn with a boat and strong on the turn with 2nd nuts.

Btw, Alan, I ended up never posting a picture of the metal print I've done for the Bubbs' Poker Den Cash Set. BUT, it made an appearance in one of the pics from last night. Oh, I'm the one drinking, what a shocker!

Jaws was the opponent. I am terrible at recalling hands but I think it went down like this.

3-$4 each preflop. I'm not sure who bumped it up but 3 players to the flop. (Edit: I think it was Kris as I know it wasn't Jaws)

Flop:
Sprouty: check (99)
Jaws: check (33)
Kris: $11
Sprouty: call
Jaws: shove, ($120 ish?)
Kris: fold
Sprouty: call and I have him covered.

Turn: and it seals the deal
River: and the table goes nuts

Then the talk of the bad beat jackpot at the Motor City ensues, guess it's at about a million. Right now.

So not as exciting as it may look but still an awesome hand to be a part of and to come out on top.

He got zero information on hand strength to know if he was behind. He was either going to win a smallish pot (1/3rd of a buyin) or lose his stack.

NH, but I think Jaws played it terribly.

I’d agree. But he should consider himself lucky he only had $120 to lose. I can’t imagine any circumstance where the 33 doesn’t lose all the chips on that that hand.

Yes the 5's are real but I believe the $1's are Scandia $1's, but they look pretty close to the real deal

This was taken earlier as our .25/.25 game was about getting started..yours truly was dealing for the night.(look for Texas hat) went in for $15 came out right at $96..great time with some great folks..

Agreed, especially if it gets to the river. He had the idiot end of a boat in the turn and *may* have gotten away if there was significant betting.

Still played horribly by Jaws, IMO. Perhaps the same result of he played it better, tho, I agree.
