Double booyah pic has me curious what people do with their tubes? I tend to keep bottles like EHT and Glendronach in their tubes even after opening. What say the masses?

I will keep the liquor in a tube if it comes with one. There was a chart earlier in the thread that showed darker storage did help taste.

I threw mine away lol took up too much space

Speaking of ryes, what’s PCFs recommendation for them? I like my knob creek 7 year rye much more than the other bourbons I bought.
On the more "standard" end of the spectrum ($40-$75 range)

Jack Daniel's Bonded rye
Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof rye
Stellum rye
Bulleit 12 year rye
Willett 4 year rye
Alberta premium rye
Barrel Seagrass
Elijah Craig rye

No room, I chuck them as soon as I get home

I keep my scotch in their tubes, most everything else I throw away the tube or box. Zero rational or explanation lol

I give most tubes to my kids and let them beat each other with them or use them as percussion instruments. Usually a couple of minutes later my wife confiscates them and throws them away.

I use them when traveling (to put another bottle in) or when shipping someone a bottle (to confuse them in disappointment, making them think I sent EHT variety... but mainly to protect the goods).

Edit: from brewzle: EH Taylor Rye and Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye
Anything Sagamore except the double oak is great.

Blackened X Willett Cask Stength

Nose: super sweet honey, strawberries and raspberries. Subtle almond, anise and rye spice notes, and just a hint of ginger. Delightful!

Palate: wow, this packs a punch that wasn't evident on the nose. Rye spice, black pepper, ginger and charred oak up front, followed by a thick, syrupy dark raspberry, grapes, vanilla and anise/marzipan. Possibly a bit of mint. Crazy complex. Dries as it lingers with more oak notes returning.

Finish: the maderia cask notes continue to linger on the finish, which dries just a bit like a red wine. Crazy long, the fruit notes continue to pop up long after the sip.

Incredible mashup between Blackened's typical wine cask offering and the full bodied Willett characteristics.

Just got back from a 10 day trip in Japan. Went to a few cocktail bars in Tokyo & Kyoto. Started hobbying with bourbon a few months ago and decided to stick with American whiskey for the time being but picked up a bottle of Harmony the day before I left to give it a try since I was going to its birthplace. Tried the Hakushu 12, Yamazaki 12, The Chita, Suntory AO, & then decided to splurge on a pour of the Hibiki 21 on my last night there. Cheapest bottle I saw was 77,000 yen but most places were selling for 100k or more. Couldnt justify it yet as the most expensive bottle I have at home is $100. But I did enjoy it. Even before I got into the hobby the hibiki bottles have always been the most aesthetic and memorable liquor bottles to me.

I was given a bottle of this recently

It would've been better if they'd done a 16yo - it'd be more in keeping with the show! Not tried it yet. Trying to save it...

We hit 1k, yessssss! And I have 2 posts on this page. I should win a free BTAC sample or something lol.
