Haven't opened my Batch 14 yet but I'm on my second bottle of Batch 12 which might be my favorite Jr ever. Hopeful for the 14!

12 I hear is better than some batches of senior Stagg, haven't tried that one but I'm hopeful I can trade for it locally one day

Here's some pron from my friends house. If only he would open more of these. It's hard to tell but some are stacked very deep, as in there's 6 Weller full proofs in the picture.
So everyone chiming in about all that good whiskey, looks amazing and hard to find for sure. I would disagree though on the best bottle around $60 in that picture, its Elmer T Lee IMHO. Love that stuff and wish I could get my hands on more than 2 bottles a year. I do find it sad that the good stuff is always made in limited quantities so that we po boys have trouble getting it. and they drive the price up. It was only 4 years ago I was buying elmer less than $30 a bottle. :(

This thread has given me anxiety, I will need a drink tonight for sure haha.

The key is to find the plentiful good stuff, no anxiety required. Russel's Reserve single barrel is way underrated and easy to find. Rare Breed is also fantastic. Some new companies are bringing decent bourbon to market, but most of them taste rushed, like they needed to wait another few years.

When the supply catches up to the demand, the secondary prices will drop. Buffalo Trace just spent $1,000,000,000 to increase capacity. It ain't like building Nintendo Switches though, bourbon takes years. Glad I'm not a distiller/manufacturer. A fun retirement plan, however, would be to have a small fermentation tank and pot still, and mash up and make some bourbon one barrel at a time.

ETL for $60? Sign me the heck up.

Etl isn't worth more than 60 and if it wasn't rare/sought after Id probably only buy it one time to have for other people to try. Of course this is my opinion and I'm a proof junkie. Anything below 100 proof tastes like water to me now
I'd take a bottle at $60. It's secondary over $200 here if I remember correctly. I've never had it.

It's so damn hard to get bottles of the rare stuff, especially at "retail".

Do you like blantons or rock Hill? It's pretty much all the same but the order of them goes Elmer, blantons, rock Hill. All very similar and same mash.

I hate the secondary. I'd buy Elmer for 60 all day, but only because the secondary exists and I know I could trade it for something I want to drink

Blanton's is alright. Never had Rock Hill. I don't think Blanton's is worth more than $60 but good luck finding it here for less than $70. My normal store usually sells it for $80 and it flies out of the back room.

Ya if you don't love blantons I wouldn't chase Elmer. If you see it at a decent price give it a shot, but you aren't missing much

FYP

If someone could score me a bottle of Rock Hill at retail, I would be appreciate of that.

I have been picking up more and more good bottles lately. Here is another premium one I picked up last week.

Old Carter Rye batch #5.

For upper shelf stuff, Blanton's. Yes the prices are crazy now, and part of that is artificial supply restriction, but the bourbon is dang good, super-smooth stuff. It was good before, and it is still good now.

"Middle shelf" stuff, I like Bulleit bourbon. It's very sweet though, and not to some people's taste. If you don't like the sweetness of Bulleit, give Buffalo Trace a try. Much more earthy drink and very good.

"Bottom shelf" stuff, mixing-only (although I usually mix my "middle shelf" but never "upper shelf" stuff), there is nothing wrong with Jim Beam. It's a solid bourbon and they have certainly mastered making the stuff. The Beam distillery in Kentucky also produces Booker's, Baker's, Basil Hayden's, & Knob Creek. Beam Suntory also makes Maker's Mark, Old Grand-Dad (ew), & Old Crow (ew).

Picking up some beautiful new whiskey shelves tomorrow. How do yall store your collection?

Very nice. I'm only at around 20 bottles right now. I'm looking to add shelves or a cabinet where we have space in the kitchen. Or, maybe a counter top locking cabinet. Anybody have ideas? Something that can hold 20 bottles or so?
