A coworker of mine was able to split a barrel with several buddies and got like 4/5 bottles at a crazy low cost. I’m so jealous of his connections!

My collection grew quite a bit over the past 2 weeks.
Waited in line for 2hr for an allocated release with about 4x the turnout of last year, only ended up with an Old Fo barrel proof pick that is surprisingly good, missed out on the Michters barrel strength rye I wanted by two people.
Also got 3 BT picks to taste side-by-side in the mail, should be fun to taste. All in all a good bourbon birthday.

I’m thinking about a Lux Row flight tomorrow. I’ve got 5 bottles to run.
So last week, I had a Weller’s flight. Not blind, but very interesting to taste the various flavor profiles.
The winner…
CYPB. It had a slight edge over the 12yr. 3rd place was the single barrel.
I did not factor price into any of the bottles but if I did, the winner would have been Antique 107 all day.
I liked the full proof after a couple drops of water. It really opened up, thought surprisingly, on the nose, it had phenols (like peated scotch), neat and with water. I definitely wasn’t expecting that.

Nice acquisitions over the last few weeks.
I was out in Washington state on business and stumbled upon a liquor store with Weller’s Single Barrel. I was able to flip a few bottles for some other stuff.
