Did a really cool tasting last night with Rob Dietrich from Blackened Whiskey. He talked about how he started out as a a distiller, working at Stranahan’s and working with Dave Pickerell.
Of course he spoke about working with Metallica and a bit about the distillation processes of Blackened, with most of the talk focused on the Metallica angle.
Wish I would’ve gotten some pics but that’s almost always a no-no from a professional perspective.
The best part was standing there pouring myself drams of the Blackened Willett while listening to his stories

Ok, one NYC price gouger was only asking a reasonable gouge, so I got a backup MWND for $130. I can live with that. And dollar-cost-averaging with my below retail bottle, I'm successfully rationalizing the purchase.
