And it’s a 12yr Cask Strength, not the more expensive non age statement.

Hmmm, didn't even know such a thing existed, I thought all the cask strengths were 12. This is one of my favorite Irish whiskeys, I think I like this one more than their 15.

I've got the same understanding. CS is 12yo.

This one has been around for at least a year. No age statement.

Damnit you know what, I actually may have had that one, the lighter blue box looks familiar. I had attended an Irish whiskey tasting evening last March and someone brought a bottle of the Redbreast Cask Strength that they had won at a cigar event, it may have been this one. I thought I took a pic of the bottle but I can't find it. Frack!! Now I really want to open my bottle tonight to taste it, but can't because I have bloodwork in the morning. Might be an Irish lunch tomorrow lol

Oh! I got an update from PayPal:

We've reviewed the details of your case, and based on the information we have to date, we have denied your case. This decision was made because your billing dispute doesn't match our qualification for a billing dispute.

I will follow up appropriately of course....or shall I say with HARSH RECOURSE.

Got my money back....no thanks to PayPal. I will be deleting that account ASAP. My bank had my back though. FUCKING HATE people that are dishonest and try to take advantage of others. The truest scum of the earth.

Oh yeah, Knob Creek Fred Noe Select and a Bookers tonight. Cheers boys!

damnit, like Irish, I've seen that color bottle before and completely forgotten about it! Doesn't look like it is in the current range and can't find it at any of the retailers I normally use.

'Small Batch' instead of an age statement.... right.....

In PA we got the Ezra and Rebel Distillers Collection, but they're not barrel strength and they're all 4 years old. And, PA barrel selections are 100% on profile, boring ass crap. At least they're at MSRP.

My local ABC board does a great job selecting barrels and I also only pay MSRP. It’s a small consolation given that allocated juice is like hens teeth around here.

I have a bottle but have yet to open it. How is it.
Good. I've got all 4 that were released this year, all 3 12s and then this one. They've all been good. I wouldn't say they've been great and I wouldn't say they've been worth the cost just for taste.

Like it retails about 3x the price of Port Charlotte. Is it 3x as good as Port Charlotte, no. Is it an interesting whiskey to have in a collection for a long time, share with other aficionados or for special occasions, kinda up to how you manage your collection. I think that's been the call out for Octomore for a while, 'is it worth the cost?' and that's really up to each person. I kinda see it like this, if you offered me a Port Charlotte at 20% off would I buy it, sure, I'll get around to drinking it in a year or two once the one I have open is empty. If you offered me an Octomore 12.1(which is my favorite so far) at 20% off would I buy it, no, because many many moons from now when I finally finish the 12.1 I have, I doubt I'll really care to open another one.

The only 'special release' that I'm considering tracking down another bottle of actually is the 2021 Lagavulin CS 12yo. I thought it was great and won't be easy to replace down the road. Pricey, but not that bad.
