Cracked the Ezra first. Interesting. First sip was admittedly not my flavor profile, it had some nice sweet vanillia and caramel and oak, but there was a funk to it, almost grassy and herbal. Similar notes on the palate with some peppery spice, a tad hot. Buuuuuuut giving it some time to breathe immensely helped. Toned down the off flavors, and some baking spice notes emerged. Great mouthfeel and a decently long finish. I'll have to revisit it again in a few weeks (I think a little rest after opening will do wonders here), but seems to be a pretty good whiskey for $50.

Haven't sampled tire dressing before... The nose was always off-putting to me, although the legs on some products seem good (except for when it slings all over freshly cleaned paint).About the best value in bourbon right here

you really need to let it breathe, 1 minute per year in the barrel minimum. Some really open up with a drop or two of water.Haven't sampled tire dressing before... The nose was always off-putting to me, although the legs on some products seem good (except for when it slings all over freshly cleaned paint).
Or were you referring to the Maker's?
I didn’t catch the proof on this. I’ll check the next time I’m in there.Haven't sampled tire dressing before... The nose was always off-putting to me, although the legs on some products seem good (except for when it slings all over freshly cleaned paint).

I'll go with
I haven't tried russel's, but rare breed is like drinking candy. I can absolutely crush a bottle of it. I think 101 is the best value around, but if you are willing to spend more then definatley get some rare breed. What do y’all think of rare breed bourbon vs Russels reserve in comparison to WT101 for value/ taste etc
I have a small collection of bottles at work. WT101 is the only bourbon I stock there. Nice enough that no one complains, not expensive enough that I'd mind if I walked in and it was empty.I'll go with
Holy crap! That's a shitload of formerly distillery only wheated goodness...About the best value in bourbon right here

The warehouse must be anticipating that they'll sell as fast as the chips at a Chip Room sale...It is! Then I looked up and they had another pallet in shrinky dink waiting to be opened when this one runs out.
Which Russels Reserve are we using in this comparison…the 90 proof 10yr or the110 proof 9~10yr non chill filtered single barrels? What do y’all think of rare breed bourbon vs Russels reserve in comparison to WT101 for value/ taste etc

That’s a great price on the KC SiB Select as well! SRP on those are now $60, which is what we pay in NC. Great score!View attachment 902676
On sale for $45 and $75 respectively. I though especially good on the Oban which is usually closer to $90 around here.
