Yet to find one of these. I’ve only found the small batch at 90 proof.
The word is now out in full force on these. They’re getting very hard to find here. Rumor has it that this is Buffalo Trace distillate that is re-distilled once it gets to Virginia and then aged 9-10 years.

I think it tastes a lot like Blantons, but has a touch more bite/spice and it has the extra proof that I feel Blantons is missing. It’s a $50 bottle here and I typically get at least 2 when they’re available. I can’t recommend this bottle enough!

Always one of my favorites

The BJ's sure raved about the 16.
I couldn’t resist. I agree with everything the BJs said.

The nose is sweet and oak. Some cherry and citrus. Spice throughout the palate, with less cherry and a bit more oak than I remember from the 15 yr. But great spice throughout. It drinks hotter than 106 proof for sure. I’m a fan. This is REALLY good. I will let it sit for a month or so to open up, then compare it to the Calumet and Sam Houston 15yrs.

they gush about it enough I picked up a bottle. I think it is the 'nicest' bourbon I have now.

i hear its good, but its just an ugly label, and honestly im a sucker for good graphics and marketing. lol

Coulda spent a lot of money today, on new items and backups. Instead got some fresh air and took some photos. I found the EC BP 522 cheaper at another store. No rush on any of it. Economy is slowing down around here and bourbon seems to sit a little longer on the shelf.

Nice work. Is that the standard price for Calumet 16?

1792 full is my go to for mixers. I mean that in a good way. I’m picky with what I use in mixed drinks
I could easily see 1792 FP making one helluva old fashioned! I’m pretty particular with my mixers too. I got shit from my tequila snob friend for using my Don Julio Private Barrel anejo in my margaritas :cool

I was in the neighborhood next door to a local VA ABC store and I decided to pop in while killing time. The guy running the place was complaining to a customer about the taters who come in and hound them for the allocated stuff. Customer asked for 'what's a good VA whisky' and the guy immediately said 'bowmans', so what do you know, some of it found its way into my hands too...
