A1 v A4

A1-Dill, mint, oak, proof
Oak, mint, baking spice, oily, oak on the finish, long finish slightly bitter

A4-peppermint, grass, caramel, chocolate
mint, wintergreen, pepper on the finish, slightly sweet on finish, long finish

It is getting really hard to pick a winner at this level because they are all so good. It could change day to day depending on how I am feeling and these are very close.

Winner: A4

Check that shit for bubbles and imperfections. It's been years, but I had a bit of a crazy uncle who swore by Lalique and Baccarat crystal, said Waterford quality was a bit off sometimes. My parents had some Waterford at the time, so I went home and checked, and he wasn't wrong. Lalique could be dog poo now, who knows, and Waterford could be primo A+ stuff. I'm just here to help people out.

K. I’m at the factory where they are making it by hand, every piece.
I asked and they said Lalique and baccarat factories weren’t in this neighborhood in Ireland.
I also told them that there was a random guy on the internet who said he heard from his crazy uncle years ago that their quality control was for shit.
They promptly promised to shut down and reevaluate their 200 year old hand made process and see if they could improve it and achieve Chinese quality machine processes.
But next time I’m at TJ MAXX I’ll check out the Lalique.

my parents picked up a full set of waterford crystal when visiting ire on their 30th wedding anniversary. It's some 'only sold in ireland' design? Maybe only sold at the factory? I'm not sure, it was a long time ago. I'm not a huge fan of the design, but the quality is flawless.

B1 v B6

B1- earth, caramel, cinnamon
cinnamon. oak, chocolate, medium finish

B6- proof, brown sugar, cherry
cherry, oak, dark chocolate, oily, long finish

these were both nice pours and i would happily drink either, but the oiliness and long finish of B6 really put it over

winner: B6

C1 v C5

C1- peanut, cinnamon, citrus
cinnamon, orange zest. pepper, medium finish

C5-mint, grass, oak
peppermint, oak, floral, short finish

Again both of these were good drinkers. C1 had a better finish, but the great taste of C5 put it through even with a short finish.

winner: C5
