That didn't get killed at JinJ? Or, did you find another?

Nope, still have about half the bottle left from the meetul. We kicked the McKenna, Buffalo Trace, Boone County and most of the Rabbit Hole rye.

Covid has destroyed any desire to have a bourbon. I haven't had a drink since Cali. This is ridiculous!
It took me several weeks to completely get over it. And it took another week or so beyond that before I felt like drinking. And if you knew me you would know that saying something because I’m god’s original own booze bag.

I did get a new liquor cabinet while I was down for the count though.

Alberta, demerara. Regarding Trinity bitters, I think 3 shakes is way too much. One shake is plenty and really adds to the cocktail. Delicious! Those bitters are potent and take over the drink if too much is used. Cheers!

IMO Bittercube's Trinity bitters are LEGIT. Way better than angustura!

I gotta find me one of those. I found the rum barrel finished, but my guy has it $20 overpriced and they just sit on the shelf.

The nose is incredible. Woody with tons of sweet sugar like glazed donuts. Dark fruits and almond. Makes me think of a blackberry bearclaw, like you can get at Black Bear Diner. This nose is nothing like any other Jack.

The palate is soft and slow at first, then comes on. Sweet berries, vanilla cola. A little spice, but it doesn’t drink like a 100 proof. There is a little barely ripe banana toward the end. Nothing like other JD though.

This is a very good value, even for a 700ml. Ugh. I can’t get over how good the nose is!

Sure is. Great wee pub back in the day. I first went 25 years ago when it was called The Cask & Still.

I was talking to the staff and it turns out that they’ve got a deal with cruise ships to bring tourists up from Greenock.
Given what all licensed establishments have had to do in the past couple of years to survive I say anyway they can get some cash to the front door is all right by me. I think the Murphys are good people too. Frank is a solid as they come.

you must spend some time at the Bon Accord too?

I’m in the Bon Accord every week. Their soup and a steak pie for £8 is legendary.
