A coworker wants to give me this old bottle that was his grandpa’s. I told him it’s probably worth a couple hundred bucks, but he doesn’t care. I see Cask Cartel has it for sale for $455. So $200ish is probably a fair price, right?

He thinks it’s from the 1950s or 1960s.

Anyone have any ideas? @joeyshin maybe?

Looks old. I’m interested if you get it. I can trade something $200-300 for it

"The nose starts with a cross between orange oil and locker room." Hahahahahaha

His bottle was from the 80s and looks to be the same label. I saw other versions of the label as well. I wonder if I can pinpoint the age of the bottle I'm getting.

It’s not on tax strip

I saw a photo today, of a person who had actually bought and in their possession was a Makers wood finishing 2022 bottle of BRT-02. Still no press, still not one review, but they do exist.

Redemption high rye bourbon store pick. This was a really crazy pour. Total vanilla bomb on the nose with a little brown sugar, just gorgous. First taste was next level awful, lol, such funk and twang that I almost chucked it. It took three glasses to confirm, but it was crazy amazing what a little rest did, this is a treat. Sweet caramel, vanilla, and some honey up front. Then the rye and charred barrel come through, and continues to dry out on the finish. Some slight herbal and almost minty notes in there as well. Will have to revisit in a few weeks.

First pour of Donkey Juice. It’s pretty damn good. Dark. Deep. There’s some weird funk in the middle. I can’t figure it out. It’s raisin. Or maybe dates. But with something else… like bacon fat or something. Maybe slightly undercooked bacon wrapped around a date? Hahahahaha

It’s good. And I know it will open up even more over time. This is my 3rd New Riff bourbon. And it’s the best of the three.

Look for a date in the glass on the bottom of the bottle.
